@JETWTF
@JETWTF 4 жыл бұрын
@@warrenarmstrong2154 And he made a decorative box/letter opener. Push knives need the tang to extend throughout the handle Hit something hard and you are not hitting it at a perfect 90 degree angle to it, the handle will break at the tang and embed the tang into your palm. Something hard like the person attacking you sidesteps and you punch a wall or car rather than them and you now have a broken weapon and an even more angry attacker. Even if you always hit at 90 degrees from the target that's allot of stress on that tiny amount of wood wrapped around the tang and using it on an old punching bag will break it quickly. Only thing that's good for is punching watermelons or opening letters and boxes.
@warrenarmstrong2154
@warrenarmstrong2154 4 жыл бұрын
JETWTF I really doubt that the knife will get used in a fight. That being said, how bad of a shot do you have to be to miss and hit a car. I think you underestimate the strength of steel and wood. If it can punch a watermelon, it can punch a human. So, it will kill.

I wanted to say how much I admire your work. I still make cutlery as a hobbie, but I want to live on it. I follow this channel, I don't even know how long, and I can't imagine how many hours I spent watching ... Besides the inspiration, seeing Will working with basic tools, gets closer to my world ... Thank you for transmitting the knowledge of this art that I love ...

You are an artist. I don't know anything about forging or metal work but I look forward to the next video on this channel be in in your garage or in the shop with Alex. Thanks for making this so amazingly entertaining. It would be nice if you include at the end of the video how long these steps take. You make it look so easy and in KZfaq fast. That must be an incredible amount of work, people would appreciate it even more with that information. Thanks again, stay safe!!

I'm always blown away with how your work comes out but when you're using the fancy tools it's kinda hard to understand fully. Seeing you use the same tools I do though, I can really appreciate just how skillful you are. Well in, Will. You knocked it out the park again!

Gorgeous little pushdagger Will. I remember the video where you guys made one of these in the Steel vs Stelter challenge ( i miss those challenges by the way, and would absolutely love to see more). They seem simple enough to make. Although when you're watching professional knife makers working in time-lapse all sorts of things can seem "simple". Keep up the great work guys. Even in lockdown this channel is still one of my go-to channels for entertainment in excellent craftsmanship.
