HOLY SHIT SOMEBODY ELSE ACTUALLY DID IT. About a couple of years back I ended up building a small point and click adventure game online using Google slides for a virtual escape room. It was entirely on a whim and took me about a week to plan and get everything set up. I ended up using multiple documents and a ton of tinyurl links for item interactions but somehow it worked out. PowerPoint really is a surprisingly effective game engine if you really put your mind to it.

If you think about it, you could also simulate a sliding movement by slowly moving objects around. It would be a lot like the games where they have a real camera go around a real scene, and you can click one specific spot to go there, but entirely made virtually. If only there was a color wheel (at least on mobile devices) you could even make your own little game all in a few days on a phone or tablet with minimal skill and effort! It seems like an amazing idea!

Trying to make a scoring system with more slides would probably take a million years. Imagine having individual slides just for whether you clicked too fast or too late and then having to do that for every single note.

in osu! the approach circles all take the same time to collapse in fully. since you already have blank slides between circles, could you have varied their durations to mimic this?

Hmm. I wonder of it is possible to make a midi to powerpoint slide. Then it would just put the circles im the middle and for each slide, you would just have to move them.

I made a game in powerpoint when I was a kid, it was an assortment of concepts but it had a target shooting level and a level where you had to navigate whislt avoiding ghosts that would move about the screen. there was probably some other levels too but i can't remeber too well

Tiene un error, si no presionas en "RETRY" continua a la siguiente diapositiva, entonces te puedes pasar el nivel simplemente tocando en cualquier parte mientas que no sea en "RETRY", para corregir esto tendría que haber un cuadro invisible que ocupe toda la pantalla, de esta forma si presionas o no en el botón de "RETRY" te mandaría al comienzo. También se debería restringir el paso de las diapositivas mediante el click izquierdo, ya que si presionas la "Flecha derecha" pasas la diapositiva que equivale a pasarse el nivel, pero bueno todos estos errores son muy específicos y como es un juego en Power Point no tendríamos que ser tan quisquillosos jeje Buen vídeo!!! me encantó

I think that since PPTX is an XML format, then you can generate slides by another program instead of manual generation.

You know, before I found Unity, before I stumbled upon Cocos2D, before I came to know about Android Development and before I even chose C++ as one of my high school subject... I did think of making a game in Powerpoint itself, with it's buttons, around 2007. XD And not only did you do it, you even made it kinda fast paced and fun. Kudos!

I made a similar thing a few years ago (not sure when exactly, probably in 2019 or 2020)... I made it in one slide tho using the animation to make the circle appear and disappear, and it also has the 300/100/50 (edit: I think I removed the 100/50 because I can't get it to work properly...) and miss animation along with the hit sound and the miss sound (edit: I think I didn't add the miss sound), but there's no fail and score since I don't have a way of implementing that... From what I remember I used the animation trigger to make the 300/100/50 appear and make the missed disappear... I also create a javascript program to calculate the timing of each animation... The sad thing is all of that is gone because my HDD is failing and there's no backup... Edit: 0:52 Owh... I just noticed you make the circle appear later... The way I did it is I'm using an invisible circle (full transparency) on top of the actual circle as a timing window, so it looks like how it is in the original game...

ok but in my high school graphics design class someone figured out how to make like little text based adventure games using powerpoint by linking to different slides whenever you clicked buttons, and would post them in the school’s server shared folder thing. then more people made them and it became a major distraction and the teacher had to ban us from making “powerpoint games” because no one was doing their assignments lmfao

bug report: if you are on the game over screen you can still just click the note to keep playing, however the note will be invisible

You could make a script to support this that just converts osu beatmap files into slides and adds them to the PowerPoint so that you don't have to map yourself
