Sorry about the sidewise text. This was originally on Tikitok and it was multiple videos broke up. This is one of my older builds but it shows almost all the steps I take when making a LARP sword. I no longer use gaff tape to reinforce the tip, now I use 2 oz leather. I also no longer use hot glue to cap the fiberglass rod, I now use rubber end caps.

That is a great looking sword. I like your techniques for shaping the blade. Hope to see more.

New favorite channel, bout to be watching all your content start to finish. New to LARP life but would love to get into making accessories and props, saw on FB you have shared amazon links and the google sheet for stuff you use! Absolute LEGEND!!

why not add a core in the cross guard? In my experience sparring with foam weapons the cross guard comes off almost as fast if not faster than the tip wears down. I ask because i see it everywhere, hardly anyone puts anything in the cross guard and it’s a vital part of the weapon that’s left flimsy and breakable

I have a question, isn't EVA foam a bit too stiff or it doesn't hurt anyway?

In light or medium touch combat it will not hurt. both my shield and swords are made from it and the larp's I go to almost exclusively use it for weapons. Only thing softer might be a pool noodle with a cloth long sock cover. And those don't look anything like swords, aka its not that cool
