He didn't repair anything other than it's appearance, it has no structural strength under his superficial repair. The whole side of the box broke off. You really don't understand how cement works if you think just covering it up means it is repaired

Great idea and good looking result. Here is a suggestion when working with concrete. Whilst it's a great material in compression, it sucks when in tension. As you found out when the side pulled off. Adding some mesh into the void, before adding the concrete, will hold it all together. Use something like galvanised chicken wire. Form three square C shapes. One long one that takes it's shape from the base and two short ends. Then two the same shape that take their shape from a short end and half of each of the long sides. Connect the 3 parts together to make a basket. The wire mesh basket should sit in the middle of the void between the two forms. To use it, put a half inch of your mix into the base. Sit the basket in place and add another half inch of mix. Then add your inner form and continue as you did in the video. The mesh basket maybe a bit overkill, but it's the easiest way to add reinforcement. Keep up the good work.

I went with a trough instead of cans, that way I can just pour clear biofuel in, its cheaper, doesn't produce residue & is less maintenance while producing exactly the same type of flame.

If you line the inside of the outer box and the outside of the inner box with wax paper the sides will easily come apart and it will give you a flawlessly smooth finish. Providing you take the time to pull out all the wrinkles in the wax paper.

This is pretty dope, I do have a couple suggestions though. 1)On the Aluminum Tile if you make this again instead of cutting it and giving it that open corner look, try shaping the Aluminum Tile to fit around the corner it might give it a more finished look. 2) try adding the Aluminum Tile along the top part which may also give it a more finished look. 3) the wood you used to make it look like it was floating seemed to be to wide, try making it a little thinner and painting it black next time. Again these are just suggestions, if you don't make this again that's cool, but if i make it i certainly will try it myself and show my process to you along with the end result. Awesome build.

Question about the fire gel: That looked almost liquid. Is it pourable? Do you think you could make a tray/box, pour some gel into that and light it? It seems like it would produce a more widespread/even flame, although I don't know if that would actually be a good thing. Does having the gel in cans help increase the height of the flames? #WranglerRIGGS - That said, this is a great video, again! At 11:05, I can't hear what you're saying - maybe overdub that? In the future, or for another fire box, you can use some of that exact same "lath" (wire mesh) that you bought in your concrete. That will add a lot of strength to your concrete, especially when you make it as thin as you did. Just form it so that it sits in the middle of the area and doesn't touch the edges. That way, it won't "come to the surface" of your concrete when you pour.
