It is truly a majestic place so rich in culture and history, the lore you find behind certain practices in Ireland, Scotland and Wales all stem from such a great source. I plan to visit the town my family came from in southern Ireland at some point, til then this lad makes me feel at home.

I'd say its a good 12 out of 10 on that chair, you want the imperfections and character in a piece like that, otherwise you might as well just go to a shop and buy some mass produced shite. On your broken saw, when you're supergluing something together like that, throw a bit of baking powder on the wet glue, not only does it set the glue off quicker but it dries harder, more like an epoxy or fibreglass, you can then file or sand it and you'll get a really strong bond which is ideal for something like a saw handle that takes a lot of stress.
@EoinReardon
@EoinReardon Жыл бұрын
Thats it exactly, this chair is "one of a kind" Thanks for the tip about the baking powder, It will definitely come of use at some point. I fixed it with some wood glue in the end and that seems to be holding up alright.

Any fine powder works with that super glue, including sawdust! Just keep a handful of different colored fine sawdust so not only will it cure quicker, but you can match the color.

The pub was vandalized, what a surprise. I used to do roadwork construction in Ireland as a student. Every machine had wire mesh guards on the windows not because of worries about construction debris breaking them but because if they weren’t protected someone would come along and smash those windows. I’m in the states now and every time I see construction equipment parked along the road I marvel that the windows aren’t protected because it’s very rare to have them vandalized.
