This may come off as hate but I dont mean it as hate I just genuinely dont really understand the business premise of the startup and Im just curious. Please anyone correct me if im wrong but from what I understand is it seems youre just going into a market segment that already has a ton of competition such as the one in the video. The first thing that comes to my mind though is Github Copilot. Youre trying to build a better github copilot when copilot is already great and doesnt really have many complaints I feel like. And the whole RAG thing of just essentially giving your private code and private information to someone else which doesn't seem like something users would like. Sure in theory and in an ideal world it would be cool to ask my google home what my uncles favorite food is but im sure theres a ton of people who wouldnt want a company even having the power to know/have that information. I guess the main difference is that youre going to make it free to use. Thats cool but again where does the business side come in then. I wanna reiterate I'm not hating I'm just kinda playing devils advocate I guess because Im actually really curious as to how this can be a successful business model or is it just philanthropy

Ollama’s whole purpose is running llms locally. Copilots alright but it sucks at inferring context. I too have no idea how the open source model manages to operate beside sponsors and offering related paid services.

If all these tools are ripping the same open-source project and just straight up rebranding to differentiate, you might actually benefit from some UX/design considerations to enhance the primary job/ICP experience. Unfortunately, I'm not a huge code guy (strictly front end in regards to that) but I am a product designer that works exclusively on startups (most of which have gone on to be very successful), so I'd love to help out in that area if there's a place for that! But regardless, I'm glad i stumbled on your content-my wife is an engineer so she gets it a little more than me but I do learn quite a bit :)
