This dress is for people who, for medical/personal/preference reasons can't/wont wear stays (the renaissance equivalent of a corset). You can customize to your shape and wear whatever undergarments you want (or don't). This style of garment can be worn by peasant class all the way up to noble, just change the fabric and trim.
