wait... let me get this straight... you can acutally CNC an entire aluminum block and cut a rim from it?

That is correct! It’s a block that then gets turned with a lathe into what is known as a “blank” wheel. This blank wheel is then milled out to make a design with bolt pattern and so on. 😎

but it's not very material or time efficient, hence 2 or 3 piece wheels.
