We entered day 53 of quarantine at the Load of Crock home, when I decided to make these crockpot brownies. A side effect of quarantine that has hit me hard and I did not see coming, is a new found love (and slight obsession) with sugar. I mean, it's bad. I find myself quarantining in my pantry, searching for sugary and sweet objects. I need help. So, I decided the best help was to embrace my new found obsession, and make some extra chocolatey brownies, in the crockpot!

Load of Crock's 12 Month's of Giving: April and May 2020 challenge:
As people continue to do their part across the US and the world, of staying at home, managing work, families, teaching of their children, and everything COVID-19, my challenge these last 2 months of April and May, have been to offer making crockpot dishes for various friends as a way to make one evening for them, and their families if applicable, a little easier.
So many people have shared the different stresses and emotions that come from each one of their stations; whether they are trying to now be their child's teacher or they are sharing their house with a significant other and both are trying to work, or, they live alone and feel incredibly isolated, or if they have lost their job due to the impact COVID-19 had on their company. Whatever the reason, the last thing I want is for figuring out what is for dinner to be a stress, so began offering to take friend's crockpots, have them pick a recipe from the website, and then we choose an evening that works best for them, I make the dish, and then deliver it to their home in time for dinner.
It's really been fun for me, to be getting to spend some time in my kitchen and be making dishes for others. So, if you feel up to the challenge, maybe reach out to someone you know that is balancing a lot these days, or someone who lives alone and could use the company (with a mask and 6 feet away, when you drop it off, of course), or anyone that you know even having one night where "what's for dinner" doesn't have to be figured out, could mean a lot, and ask if they could use a break and make a meal for them.
Hang in there everyone! Stay home, stay safe, and healthy and remember, we are all in this together!
