Annatto is added for color and it is a seed high in tocotrinols ( Vitamin E) that should be consumed to help prevent damage from strokes. It is commonly used to color cheddar cheese and in Mexican dishes.

@@carolinacowboycooking I have friends living near Tillamook. I don't know where my aunt Peggy lived but remember her talking about NC. She married my uncle and moved to MA. She always had that sweet southern way about her.
