Tips for hallway combat beyond the pulling manœuvre Koibu mentioned: pins and grappling - if a player is near a wall then attempting to pin their weapon arm against the wall definitely helps them realise that hallway combat is more than just slashing and stabbing - parries, wrestling, throwing weapons and objects, and taunting help spice things up as well. Levels can be used beyond the kobold bench - enemies who are knocked down but still in the fight can grab at ankles; climbing or tripping over piles of bodies present obstacles/cover and help to paint the scene as do slippery gore and viscera, &c..
