You can do this method with any of your favorite recipes. Mine is Olive Oil 40%, Coconut Oil 25%, Palm Oil 20%, Cocoa Butter 5%, Shea Butter 5%, Castor Oil 5%, superfat is 5%. Please run your recipe through a lye calculator. My batch is 70 ounces. I used about 800 grams of water in total. 600 grams to mix my lye. 100 grams for the sugar syrup, and 100 grams divided equally across my colorants. I keep my titanium dioxide premixed in a 64 oz bottle with water. I use 2-3 tablespoons of sodium lactate. Please be aware that hot process soap still needs 4-6 weeks of curing time. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will do my best to help you out! Thank you for watching!

Wow!! This is the BEST fluid hot process video!! I love love love your technique and you explain it all with such great detail. That batter!!! The most fluid I've seen so far. I make both CP and HP and I have tried other peoples methods and even their recipes but my batter never looks as creamy or fluid as theirs does. And not anywhere close to what yours looks like. I've gotten some great swirls on the inside but by the time I get to the top it's already starting to get chunky and I never get a good top. I love how yours looks even when you just swirled the soap with the skewer. The top still looks so smooth and creamy compared to what mine looks like. I will definitely have to try your method and let you know if I have success. Thank you for sharing such a fantastic and informative video!!

I was up until 5am this morning soaping so I'm just getting up. After reading the comments today I now realize that the ingredients I plugged into soapcal gave me more of a whipped cream soap. My batter went into the mashed potato state after about 8 minutes and stayed there. I didn't know what to do so I just continued putting in my additives. It was fluid but very frothy. As I was adding the lye to the 600g of water, a little voice said I was not doing something right. I continue because I didn't know what to do. I'll try again once I get over this heartache.

@@ZAJANatural Well, It was not as fluid as yours. I entered my recipe in soap calc for a 36 oz batch. Used the required ratio for the Sodium Lactate, yogurt and half the amount you had for the sugar serum. It did not budge lol. The soap came out lovely but the batter was not fluid at all. I would have to research the usage rate for the Sodium Lactate and the Sugar Serum for this method and try again. (I used 1 tsp ppo for the SL and 1 tbsp ppo for the yogurt).

If it has white chunks it may be lye. I know this is two years later, my apologies. Sometimes it can also be that the stearic acid was not melted enough, or your coconut/palm oil did not melt fully. It's hard to say.

What makes it fluid is the extra liquids (water or milk or yogurt)
@ZAJANatural
@ZAJANatural Жыл бұрын
I believe the yogurt does the trick. I don't actually use any extra water, I just partition my water to use it at different times.

Do you need to do water discount, since there was quite an amount of sugar water added? Thank you!
@ZAJANatural
@ZAJANatural 3 жыл бұрын
Hello. There isn’t a water discount anywhere. I just separate the water and add it where I need it. The sugar, colorants, etc.

My TD portion does not remain fluid in SBHP. Wonder why? Also TD part does not become fully white in SBHP the way its white in CP.
@ZAJANatural
@ZAJANatural 5 жыл бұрын
Sangeetha S A Do you mean when you add it to the cooked batter, it doesn’t remain fluid? Colors are not as vibrant in hot process. Maybe because the soap has already gelled.

Sangeetha S A Have you tried premixing it? I keep my TD mixed in a 64oz squeeze bottle. I mixed about 10oz of TD with the water. Whenever I need white, I just give the bottle a good shake and squeeze.

Is sodium lactate and sugar water necessary or can you just use yogurt? If I can use yogurt can it be a vegan version like coconut?
@ZAJANatural
@ZAJANatural 4 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry. I am just now seeing this question. Neither are necessary, but essential if you are trying to keep your batter fluid. I do not have experience with vegan yogurt, but you can give it a try. I imagine it's the cultures in the yogurt that does the trick.

The "superfat" is saponified regardless so I calculate it with the rest of my oils and add it all at once.

2 ?? Why do you add the sugar to soaps?and why do you taste the soap?
@ZAJANatural
@ZAJANatural 3 жыл бұрын
Great questions~ Sugar I believe adds to the fluidity and also helps with the lather. I taste the soap because by doing so I can tell if the soap is done. If the soap tastes sweet (before adding the sugar of course) it is done. If it zaps my tongue it needs to be cooked longer.

@ZAJANatural

The lye is gone even in cold process soap if made properly. The wait is so that the soap can dry out and become a better, milder bar over time.
