Never seen this fiber prep before but definitely going to try it they look awesome!!

Thanks for sharing this method! I tried it today (have the Ashford warping peg too, lol) and it’s working great. I absolutely love spinning from rolags but carding them up takes a long time, and making them on a blending board also takes longer and I experience that snarl from the two rods.

Im soooo happy I found your videos! I just purchased a spindle yesterday and BFL roving because of the longer fibers for a beginner. This has helped me tremendously to gain control while I'm drafting, and I love the airy feel of the yarn when I use the fauxlags as opposed to trying to draft in hand from a larger chunk of my fiber. I spent two hours tonight playing with this method and it was fantastic =)

Love this technique! and Your point about how if you spin from the end you're going to pull out the fibres from longest to shortest leaving the merino at the end was soo helpful! I'm a new(ish) spinner and have had this happen but couldn't really figure out why. Can't wait to watch more of your videos :D

Do you do this so there are blocks of color rather than having them blend? I only have drop spindles so are these practical for that type of spinning. Thank you for your video.
