My mom used to do these for me, and only lately have I realized how grateful I am for parents who celebrated my bday wholeheartedly. My dad would put up balloons everywhere as well and streamers, and mum would be pumping balloons like so fast(they were both working, so they came back 4ish to decorate and stuff) . Then they would fill the smaller gift bags that were to be given for winning a game, and dad would check if the shop had finished the cake, and my mom and our house help would set about making food. Gift bags were done days before, and I got to choose what all my friends got! But the games were a surprise, and my mom and dad hosted it all together.. Damn I miss those days.. But not too much, bc last year(i turned16) my mom and my friends conspired behind my back, she sent me to get some stuff and when I came back, they surprised me. They had decorated my room with fairy lights, balloons, pics of me stuck to the fairy light, and those sweet 16 balloons! Must've been a herculean task, considering I only went for Like 30 mins

Right? :) Like my birthdays were similar to yours. It was always just me and my family. No friends, no guests. I guess they used it as a healing time of their own 💓 I’m so greatful for those days
