Making Human Rights Come Alive: The UDHR at 75

For the past 75 years, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) has been the foundational document of international law defining and protecting the basic rights and fundamental freedoms of all human beings. As continuing challenges to human rights persist, from the war in Israel to the war in Ukraine to the Taliban’s control of Afghanistan, the UDHR takes on new relevance at 75. Moderated by Hillary Rodham Clinton, this discussion featured former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and former President of Chile, Michelle Bachelet; leading historian on the negotiation of the UDHR, Allida Black, prominent Ugandan LGBTI Rights Advocate, Frank Mugisha, and the Nobel Peace Prize-Winning Journalist, Maria Ressa.

@@leemclaurin9761 Disagree. Everyone has valid points. They don't scream them out in the middle of a panel and monopolize everyone's time. Wait for the Q&A and ask your question or state your point. Imagine a room full of people screaming out their own points to a panel conversation. That also wasn't a question. That was a monologue.

What percent of Americans actually want that and is it a high chance to start more confrontation and potentially lead to war? Does this go deeper? you have to question what the actual purpose of all this. Think that guy wanted to get the word out because this is a dangerous move and people need to understand that
