Ah David perfectly described how off I felt about one piece live action. I kept describing it as "too clean" and he perfectly described why with the lack of texture in the costume and the likeness to an anime convention and the lack of detail in the set

The great Hayao Miyazaki said watch his movies in dubbed to focus on the animation so who am I to judge. However when it comes to none Miyazaki movies I always go subbed. Ghibli movies hire actual big name actors while most anime hire generic voice over actors. Can always tell the difference.

For a while I had that issue as a photographer that I didn’t really understand tech like a lot of gear heads. But I’d base my work off of feeling and making sure i felt energy through the work I created making sure I sense symmetry through contrasts and compositions. As time passed I realized a lot of these major gear n tech dweebs work/craft wasn’t that good for the amount they’re spending on equipment 😂 I’ve seen people with iPhones take better shots than some dudes with 5,000+ gear setups . The tool is only as good as the person using it.

However if you guys would like to talk about movies that doesn't require such a draining podcast I would love to listen to you guys talk up an older movie you guys already love especially Korean or foreign films that don't have the spotlight hollywood has. I watched "Along with the Gods" and "Chingu" based off your podcast recommendations when you and Ed talked about it like 3 years ago. Now those are some of my favorite Korean movies. i cringed so hard when they do the calling out attack names in english, it jsut doesnt work, it lacks the same impact it does in japanese and cant even watch it dub in japanese since it doesnt fit at all

David for the one piece live action there was a scene where zoro rolls and this plastic ass swords bends and it's just all off man one of many plastic things

I've never had a real issue reading and appreciating the animation. Dubs are just too distracting to me for some reason

One Piece Live action was MEH AF. The rabid fanbase doesn't wanna admit it and will say "you're not a fan" if you criticize it. I guess watching the anime since day 1 and reading the manga means you're not a fan of the series lol One Piece is faaaaaaaaaaar from being the best Live Action lol Kenshin did a better job. They literally showed that circus guy threaten Zoro in one scene and you never see him again after that lol
