Follow me as I start my exciting new mini excavator business.
I have always wanted to run an excavator - It always looked like great fun. Well now I do. I retired in December of 2021 from the home building industry and decided to buy an mini excavator. - 2021 Bobcat e42 Excavator.
Ride alone with me as I build my new business and make some money too. I will share with you everything I learn along the way. From finding jobs, bidding jobs and running my machine. And from time to time I will team up with my new friends, Bill, John and Leonard.

The trick to dealing with those frames is to pin them down with your blade.

I agree Randy. Kind of a learning process for me. A torch would work well I think, but that's another trip to the shop. Thanks for the helpful comment.

Hi Jack, it’s all about cost. The owner gets to decide. Some areas don’t require permits. Some areas will allow you to bury construction debris, and others will even allow you to burn it. The ultimate decision is often up to the homeowner.

Im thinking to start excavate business, but i dont know is it hard to get jobs,can i make good money with it?

You have to be able to sell the job that means talking to the people and showing them you can be trusted and that your estimate must be competitive by the way I’ve had pretty good luck using Angi list, but I only market demolition and large lanclearing.

I have done many trailer houses and you are wasting time by crunching them in such small pieces, Try to get your pieces to a touch narrower than what you are putting them in and as long as possible. Also remove all glass step 1 as it is easier to put in the dumpster in big pieces then it is to pick millions of pieces off the ground. Next remove roof material with grapple, if it is a metal roof pull the metal sheets off with a grapple before the wood comes off as it must be separated in most places and then the roof sheeting material. Next is the walls, try to get them pulled loose from the floor in full height pieces and just a bit narrower than the dumpster. As for the frame, keep it as straight as possible and cut it with a torch or sawzall in as long of links as possible where it will still fit in the trailer as they are not worth much in scrap iron so you don't want to get much time or oxygen in them, Better yet give it to a scrapper for getting rid of the frame. Hey Dutch, four ways 1- I have a couple friends that need help sometimes on projects 5% 2-list your company google.com 25% 3-List on Networx - expensive but pays for itself. 30% Choose Demolish and Remove Structures and Install and Spread Gravel And Angi Leads_ Expensive, but pays for itself 40% Choose Demolition and Paving/ gravel or loose fill Best money making jobs are demoing structures and demoing/filling in in ground pools and gravel driveways and parking areas
