I don’t know why people automatically think stock plugins are trash just because it doesn’t have a huge price slapped on it.

People just tend to use whatever is the most popular because there will be the most tutorials and preset packs available for it. Even basic synths are very powerful and usable but like 85% of people who use these synths have no interest in understanding them or making their own sounds. When a shiny new synth comes out and the tutorials and packs come flooding in, it’s a field day of new sounds for producers who aren’t sound designers.
