I've been using Tussah silk since my second soap and love the feel it gives to the soap. You only need a little to get a silky feel.

Awesome video! Making oat milk is so much cheaper than buying colloidal oats. Who knew about the cold water tip??? Question, would the soap benefit from using more oats in the water to oats ratio? Many thanks from Georgia, USA
@SoyandShea
@SoyandShea 5 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching. It's really hard to say as it is not proven that soap does anything more than clean. You can feel a difference in the soap but it's hard to say if the soap would benefit. You also have to keep in mind saturation rates and the water can only hold so much oatmeal.

OH My Goah, Keeley you are a marvel. I never ever realised how simple it is to make oat milk. Like you I would buy a 1 litre contain from the supermarket and use a small amount and forget it was in the fridge and have to throw it away (I do the same with coconut milk as well. You have made my life so much easier. How long will the oat ilk last in the fridge? I am assuming 2-3 days? Keep up the great work and cannot wait for the next video.

Thank you. It is hard to substitute palm oil due to its properties. Many will use tallow in place of palm

hi, i need suggestion on how to make white soap without titanium dioxide, and palm oil or lard
@SoyandShea
@SoyandShea 3 жыл бұрын
You need to be using oils that are clear or very low in colour. If you oils are dark in colour, the soap will be creamy.

Hey, soaping genie😍😍😘😘 Good day to you😁😁 May I ask you a question? If I were to add the grounded oat into the batter as exfoliant, will it turn bad? Thank you in advance!🙏🙏😁😁
@SoyandShea
@SoyandShea 3 жыл бұрын
No it shouldn't turn bad as long as you keep the usage rate low. 🧡

Love nut milks soaps but regarding oat milk specifically you can do away with the extra steps and just add colloidal oats to your recipe and still call it an oat milk soap. Colloidal oats are not as cheap as making your own oat milk but as time is money (if you own a business) and you want an oat product more effective than oat milk then colloidal oats is definitely the way to go.
@SoyandShea
@SoyandShea 3 жыл бұрын
Time does mean money but it only took me 5 minutes to make so make so the cost of time out weighs the cost of colloidal oatmeal. 😊

Hi Keeley, I don't know which state or town you live in but I live in Qld near Roma and I buy Soy Milk cheaper than you make your oat milk. I was going to try it for myself until my wife told me how much we pay for our Soy Milk
@SoyandShea
@SoyandShea 3 жыл бұрын
I live halfway between Gold Coast and Brisbane. You're lucky if you can buy soy for less than $1 a litre. Definitely not that price round here 😔 and all the other milks cost a lot more

Doesn’t the steam from the lye make your measure cup a bit wet which then transfer to the lye storage container? Well I got sick of that so Against all soaping jargon out there....I have been adding my water to the lye and have never experienced the so called soaping myth of volcalization. I did it accidently and have discovered it is so much easier and saves on time and dishes. Been doing it that way for 15 years. You will thank me later.🙋‍♀️🥰👌
@SoyandShea
@SoyandShea 3 жыл бұрын
Never had an issue with steam on my cup. I think I might keep doing it this way though as it doesn't create extra washing up for me personally and I'm more likely to overpour water than sodium hydroxide.

Soy and Shea yes but it’s not a problem if you over pour water as it is on a lye over pour!
