The effect is also called exponential scaling, or hyperzoom perhaps. This was actually the first time I worked in After Effects... 0:00 intro 1:12 explanation 2:16 booooooooriiiiiiiing 10:25 outro 10:51 outro blooper....

@@lazyposy oh I guess I misunderstood. this is the first time you used after effects, but the last animation you've done? did you use another animation software before? I use after effects, but I've never used Fusion. it looks even more confusing than AE.

It's faster to select both keyframes and hit F9 to ease them automatically. Then you can go into the graph editor with the property selected and drag the handles. It's also easier to double click the points in the graph editor and set the influence in terms of percent, that lets you set influence in each direction (incoming or outgoing) independently without having to wrangle the annoying bezier handles.

Thanks, I'll try to remember that 🤯

@@lazyposyThere’s also a really handy free plugin called EasyCopy. Allows you to select one or multiple key frames with easing, copy the ease, then paste on to any other keyframes. WHY this isn’t stock I don’t know.

aha, you said automation instead of keyframes which I find quite funny for those who don't know, using a digital audio workstation, automations are basically keyframes but for parameters related to the instruments in a daw

AE is such a shitshow. I assume you're running on a somewhat decent PC, and it already struggles zooming a few still pictures...
@lazyposy10 ай бұрын
In all fairness, when I tried to do this in Resolve (Fusion) it was unworkably slow, and for making animations AE is the better choice even though it all seems a bit illogical to me. It's in 4k and the pics are even bigger 🙂

@@lazyposy I'm seeing this from a programmer's perspective, and these are rather simple operations. Anyway, the sluggish speed makes everything even more frustrating than it needs to be.
