Audio design is such an under appreciated part of game design. Halo 3 still has some of the best audio design I've ever heard. It sounds absolutely sensational through expensive headphones. The clarity, punch and ability to pinpoint where everything is beyond most modern games I've played, especially now when we have simulated surround sound which just ends up making things sound more muffled and less realistic.

Knowing Frank O'Connor there pisses me off because years later, he says that he didn't think that the Master Chief was important to halo

A minute’s silence for all those marines killed testing the vehicle destruction system.

The LEAST of what Halo is is graphics. I say that knowing full well they have all looked cutting edge.

Had no idea Bo Katan herself voiced a marine in Halo 3 - that's badass

I grew up with Halo. Im in my early 30's now and I work a full-time job while being a full-time student and getting my pilot's license. I have next to zero time to play videogames anymore, but every now and again I get on KZfaq and watch these documentaries to take a trip down Memory Lane.

Since MCC Mod tools came out, I've been coding, modeling objects, and much more. But I always remember, despite my frustration working on something small and stupid for a full day is still NOTHING compared to what these guys went through. Just importing models and especially coding makes me really and truly appreciate what these guys had to go through. I even stopped the video when they showed code on the screen to see if there was anything new I could learn. (Sadly there wasn't)

That part where the fun multiplier goes 10x unexpectedly due to the unforeseeable bug the slips into the scene/event, catching everyone off guard, resulting in a chain of deafening laughter. That makes halo, Halo. Name your favorite glitch.

I watched these so many times on the extras disc on my limited edition of the game in middle school.

When I was a kid and beat Halo 3 for the first time, I really thought Master Chief died at the end. I watched the memorial scene and started tearing up thinking "No way...he can't be dead" then I heard Lord hood say "Hard to believe he's dead." I started bawling my eyes out and cried out loud...I never sat through the end credits until a few months later and when I finally did and saw chief floating in the dawn I was like "YESSSSS HAHAHAAA" and shit my pants the end.

bungie's vidocs were a huge inspiration to hold on to my dreams.

Halo 3 is so special

Man... Working as a game dev on Halo would've been awesome. Totally a workplace where I'd stay until late at night just for the fun of it.
