@@closedlane5027 because the original company went bankrupt. After shelling out so many games things got stale and the title went under. Sadly the only way to keep the game alive was to sell the ip. Now it suffers the same fate by the hand of WB studios. they have forced "Nether Realm" to shell out fighting games just as fast. Games that are much more visually demanding. Games that take blood sweat and tears to make. (Mk.vs.DC.-MKps3-injustice-MKxps4- Injustice 2- and the soon to be MK11).... Then injustice 3 or God knows what eals. THERE KILLING THEM. these people are being treated like slaves. MK11 needs to last at least 3 years. If they keep up this old trend there going to kill nether realm just like the original creators killed themselves. It's just not right!!!

Because he stayed with Midway and stuck with the franchise, people tend to view Ed Boon as the "father" of MK. But John Tobias really deserves a LOT of credit for most of what we love about the classic trilogy, as he pretty much came up with all of the characters, lore and story bits that we care about most. He had/has a fantastic long-thread of posts on Twitter detailing many behind the scenes tidbits and stories, it was a great read!

I loved this game as kid and played it so religiously that key combinations got in to my muscle memory. I could hit combos with blind fold. (16bit version ) on box controllers with joy stick. Use to be crazy for it back in 2000. This is first time when I am seeing the people who actually made it. Love to you guys for making this awesome game. No game has been able to provide that arcade joy till date. Now computer games are like .. you press couple of keys and a lot happens on the screen. But MK3 was like .. you have remember and do it right everytime combos which involved pressing the keys 10-15 times in correct order and moving the joystick simultaneously. Love for this game will die in my heart... It makes to kid again. Lots of love guys 👍

Amazing work. Those software engineers at the end. Their job sounded like the most arduous, mundane of tasks, but that's their jam, bread and butter, eating it up and loving it. Hats off to the software engineers

First Mortal Kombat game I got was MK3 for the SNES. They did quite well with the difficulty scaling in the AI in MK3, but, UMK3 and Trilogy was ridiculous. Constantly countered for everything.

Ah, back when artists made games. Back when you could say things without having to go home that night and lay sleepless in bed worrying about potentially getting sued into next week. Good times.

I was born in 89 so I was very little when I first played this game but I remember the amazement I felt back then when I played MK2 & MK3 a little and then a lot of MK4. Recently I have revived my love for this game and it feels even more special now because it somehow makes me feel at home because it has been part of my childhood and now that I'm grown I get to appreciate it even more as the game has became so much more complexed and advanced.
