One of my most favorite films. Nothing beats 90’s action films.
@elcimarron86604 жыл бұрын
This movie has something that today's movies don't have. elaborate action sequences with practical CGI, an edition montage sublime and natural comedy, nothing forced and with excellent scores from the soundtrack. James Cameron is the father of action movies. The action, assembly and editing in his films are on another level.
@jcp1984again Жыл бұрын
Sorry, what do you mean by the term "practical CGI"? Those two words mean pretty much opposite things - practical effects are effects that are done on camera, and CGI is posthumously rendered computer-generated imagery. 🙂So I'm pretty sure you meant "practical effects", not CGI.

True Lies is the best action/comedy starring Arnold, better than Last Action Hero (which I don't dislike, I just think True Lies is better written). But yeah, right after the first two Terminator movies, Conan, Predator and Total Recall, this one is up there with his best.

I think there might have been a sequel in this but sadly events like 9/11/2001 came along with advances in technology and also PC and woke ideology also came and ruined plans since fans of this before aren't like now and also instead we got a crappy TV series based on this which you can also Google and KZfaq about nothing like this film ever could be and really bored to tears by that too.
@SCharlesDennicon2 жыл бұрын
The fact that Arnold and Jamie Lee Curtis did many of their stunts, and the fact that most of that shit was practical effect, made True Lies even awesomer than it already is.

Something that the TV series this is based on could never do among others that were okay when this film was made but not now. Yeah someone really thought it was bright to make a TV series based on this and it bombed horribly anyway you can also Google and KZfaq that as well.

I was lucky enough to have witnessed the entire filming for the rooftop Harrier jet(McDonnell Douglas AV-8B is the the US varient to the British Harrier)sequence as I was constantly in the Capital Bank building at Greenberg Traurig, LLP on the top floors for work. Seemed like it took a month or two to complete. I remember the final scene on the street where the jet “landed” via crane and hearing “that’s a wrap” with a bunch of smoke and Arnold walking from it with his lit cigar and all the cheers…me included. Epic moment. Interesting how I ended up living on Brickell Bay Drive not that long along and still don’t shut up about it

True lies is a really good movie (But Predator will always remain my favourite Arnold movie) I think just a little underrated, but it's really good that it is a lot popular now. But when James Cameron and Arnold pair up to make a movie, they knock it out of the park. It's also pretty cool to see Jamie Lee Curtis paired up with Arnold too. I never really thought they would make good casting together, but when I saw the movie, they did a really good job. Fun fact when John McTiernan and Stan Winston were making Predator's design Stan Winston got a bit of inspiration from James Cameron. But anyways, this is a really good action comedy that I could really love to watch a lot of times
