I migliori auguri, Jim

Nice work sir.......is that gloss paint you use ?
@AbstractOrkney
@AbstractOrkney 3 ай бұрын
Thank you for your kind words. Yes, that's correct - it's just standard household gloss paints.

Excuse me, why do you use exterior and/or iron paint?
@AbstractOrkney
@AbstractOrkney 3 ай бұрын
Good question. The paint colours are so vibrant - is the answer. However, they are also durable, robust, and easy to work with.

How long does it take to dry
@AbstractOrkney
@AbstractOrkney Ай бұрын
Hi Bruce, Because it is gloss paint it forms a skin on the surface quite quickly (around a week) and then it's dependent on the paint used. Thicker ones are usually completely dry and good to hang in about a month. The more liquidy paints take a lot longer - possibly 3 - 6 months. Best, Jim

Lovely painting! Why did you add the white spirit? And why just to one pot only?
@AbstractOrkney
@AbstractOrkney 4 ай бұрын
Thank you. :-) The white spirit was to thin that colour out slightly - it had dried a little in the tin.

woud love to hear your thoughts on why pollock was an influential figure to you, maybe some commentary in the next? loved the video either way, will subscribe to see more, good luck and happy holidays !

Thank you for your kind words - they're really appreciated. Pollock broke the mould and showed how painting can evolve. On one hand, I love that it is a full body style that uses not just the eye and hand, but also the legs and core (for balance!). However, most importantly for me is fluidity of movement to create composition - action painting (as Harold Rosenberg described it). Happy holidays to you, too.

You're very welcome, thanks for the explanation. It's amazing what can be done with the full body in action! Watching your new video now, look forward to more@@AbstractOrkney
