@@user-ov6jg4ug9d From what I've seen, it seems diacetyl for butter flavoring and vape juice is banned in the UK, but not in the US, unless I'm mistaken.

@@KhoiMVo its not "officially" banned in the US, but barely anyone uses it. There are a few brands that do have trace amounts of it in their juices, BUT diacetyl on its own isn't harmful in anyway. Its the process in which its used in popcorn factories that made it dangerous. You would need to drink gallons of ejuice to have even close to the amount of diacetyl used in a single box of microwave popcorn. Diacetyl is not just in ejuice, and microwave popcorn, its also in most alcohols (including almost every single large batch beer). Damn near every gallon of milk, butter, yogurt, cheese and pretty much every other dair product. Honey, pretty much every fruit, coffee, and even in almost every steak, chicken, pork product you've ever eaten. Diacetyl is a NATURAL occuring product and everyone comes in contact with it every day of their life. Popcorn lung has only ever occured in 2 professions. Popcorn facility workers, and Coffee processing workes (Coffee Worker Lung Disease, is the exact same as popcorn lung). So it not being banned is absolutely not even close to a concern. Especially when ejuice manufacturers self regulated and removed it from over 90% of the market.

Hey Rhett, there is no reason to worry about "Popcorn lung" from vaping. There is far more diacetyl in tobacco cigarettes and no smoker has ever got popcorn lung either. Only people who have ever got popcorn lung were the folks who worked at the popcorn factory and were around tons of diacetyl dust for decades. Plus diacetyl taste amazing!!!!! Love the show, just wanted to inform you since you misspoke on it.

I got a George Foreman grill as a wedding gift when I got married in Nov of 2018. I always wanted one because my mom always used one growing up. I've used it once and burned whatever I had cooked. I just use the stove or oven mainly.

Sorry Rhett, but the chemical in Vapes that causes "popcorn lung" hasn't been used by the vapor industry for over 5 years (when they realized the chemical used to make ice cream/yogurt/dairy Vapes was the same as the popcorn chemical). You're not wrong, but you're also using outdated information.

Not all vape liquids contain diacetyl. It's actually a component that most reputable manufacturers stay away from.

Your expert friend isn't much of an expert. There are a few brands that do have trace amounts of it in their ejuices, BUT diacetyl on its own isn't harmful in anyway. Damn near every gallon of milk, butter, yogurt, cheese and pretty much every other dairy product, honey, pretty much every fruit, coffee, and even in almost every beef, chicken, pork product you've ever eaten. Diacetyl is a NATURAL occuring product and everyone comes in contact with it every day of their life. Popcorn lung has only ever occured in 2 groups of people. Popcorn facility workers, and Coffee processing workers (Coffee Worker Lung Disease, is the same as popcorn lung).
