When working with Ultra Cal 30. Use a chip bush to do your detail coat, it is easier,faster and you will have fewer bubbles. 2 set the mold on a washer during the spin cycle or a vib table to help the bubbles to raise to the surface. 3 if the ultra cal is soft and chalky after it has dried your Ratio of ultra cal to water is off. Ultra cal is closer to a cement than a plaster and the reason it is used is because of how Strong and resent to chipping it is. It should not be chalky.

Hello, Great work! I wonder what release agent you used for separate the 2 parts of ultracal molds? I will cast Smooth On ecoflex sillicone in a plaster mold and I now is very sensitive to some chemicals.

I use a jigsaw without the blade when pouring concrete molds. That might work here as well... Dunno

what kind of plasticine do you use to make wall for mold?

Did you bake the sculpt before you cast it?
