Beautiful work! I have done similar work and i was curious as to why you would go through the extra steps to veneer wood to make it look like the original rather than just use that type of wood and accomplish the same thing but less steps?

making them out of solid wood would split very easily

Have a question for you if you don’t mind! In the process of painting our oak kitchen cabinets. Cleaned with degreaser, sanded and applied 2 coats of oil based primer. After 1st coat of paint dried, a few of the doors have little black spots bleeding thru and especially where the wood grain is heavy. Is that mildew possibly?
@rosstaylorwoodworking7286 жыл бұрын
unlikely , but possibly small bits of steel wool were trapped in the grain

ROSS TAYLOR WOODWORKS I didn’t use steel wool at all. Should I just sand down to the wood & start over? Maybe I didn’t get enough primed brushed into the grain?
@rosstaylorwoodworking7286 жыл бұрын
steel wool could have been from a previous finishing , probably need a stain blocking primer
