I just made my first bandsaw box. What a learning curve it was for me! Leaving the back off at the start is a brilliant idea.

Nice. I made one of your smile boxes last year and it came out a treat. Thanks again for the designs! I am (almost) in business myself selling these, along with some designs I am now making myself. Your advice about putting the back on after you have cut out the main box shape is useful - it kinda saves a step and adds a step but definitely the right way to go for a lot of things.

Enjoyed watching your builds....great explanations and teaching style. Also have built several "smile" boxes.....and not quite as easy as you make it.....but as long as you put the curves on the cuts, it all comes together! If you have video of the scalliwag box...please put that out when you get the chance. Looks fascinating . Thanks for all your videos.....really like the way you teach!

That is a nice project...Is a 10” bandsaw enough to do this ? I do have a big Rikon 10-324 as well but only have a wide resaw blade for it. The 10” bandsaw has a 1/4” blade.

You actually threw away all that wood?!? Like, literally in the garbage? That hurts my soul. Do you not live somewhere that you could put them on craigslist or FB marketplace for free? I would snatch those up so quickly to make end grain cutting boards. Anyhow, now that I've ranted, I love these boxes! I bought your plans for the mini barrister bookcase and currently making some mockups using repurposed pine before I use nice wood. Anyhow, looking forward to trying these when I'm done! (Would love to see any of those boxes being made.)
