Tomato soup: - 1 pint cherry tomatoes - 1/2 baseball sized sweet onion - 5 garlic cloves - handful of basil - 1/3 cup cream - roast the onions and in an oven at 400 until they’re darkened and you can easily pull the tomato skins off. Sear them a bit in a pan if you don’t have an oven like me. - blend all that crap with 1/3 cup of cream, basil, and some water to thin it out if need be. - I like to strain out some of the solids but if you’re a nerd who hates fiber you can strain out everything. Again, the measurements here are estimates but this is something you can taste after every step so do that and adjust accordingly.

It's funny to me how this comment section is freaking out about Eleanor and FDR being 5th cousins once removed. Most people have 5 to 6 first cousins and about 28 seconds cousins. This number gets exponentially bigger each generation. Most people on average have about 17,300 fifth cousins. People probably marry their 5th cousins all the time without even realizing it. Roosevelt did make some silly jokes at the expense of Churchill, about his cigars and British style, I don't think "fat nerd" was a word back then. This all, however, was to make Stalin soften up, after Stalin pretended to be insulted by the term "Uncle Joe", and similar. Think this was at Yalta.

A TON of the credit for programs during the great depression actually goes to Francis Perkins, who was a lifelong advocate for workers' rights. Before she became the first woman appointed to the cabinet, she worked for things like a clean work environment, adequate fireproofing, child labor laws, etc. FDR respected her and listened to her, and much of what is credited solely to him wouldn't have come about if he hadn't hired her
@valkyria4631
@valkyria4631 Жыл бұрын
@@VictorKing144 Just because you don't like it and didn't pay attention during high school history class doesn't mean it isn't true. FDR nominated Perkins to be his Secretary of Labor and she was one of only two cabinet members that remained for the entire run of his presidency. The proposals and labor programs she personally brought forward to FDR and fought for were fundamental in crafting the labor protections that went into the New Deal, notably including the institution of a minimum wage and the regulation of child labor. To this day she is the longest serving Secretary of Labor. It's silly to act like a presidents' accomplishments are solely their own work - they may be head of state, but government and legislative change involves many people's contributions working together. Recognizing the contributions of others in his administration who helped to make his term as effective and revolutionary as it was doesn't diminish a single thing about FDR or his legacy. And in fact, it is a more nuanced approach to history as a whole.

The Goldfish is a freshwater fish in the family Cyprinidae of order Cypriniformes. It is commonly kept as a pet in indoor aquariums, and is one of the most popular aquarium fish. Goldfish released into the wild have become an invasive pest in parts of North America. Native to China, the goldfish is a relatively small member of the carp family. It was first selectively bred for color in imperial China more than 1,000 years ago, where several distinct breeds were developed. Goldfish breeds vary greatly in size, body shape, fin configuration, and coloration.

The blue whale (Balaenoptera musculus) is a marine mammal and a baleen whale. Reaching a maximum confirmed length of 29.9 meters (98 ft) and weighing up to 199 tonnes (196 long tons; 219 short tons), it is the largest animal known ever to have existed. The blue whale's long and slender body can be of various shades of greyish-blue dorsally and somewhat lighter underneath. Four subspecies are recognized: B. m. musculus in the North Atlantic and North Pacific, B. m. intermedia in the Southern Ocean, B. m. brevicauda (the pygmy blue whale) in the Indian Ocean and South Pacific Ocean, B. m. indica in the Northern Indian Ocean. There is also a population in the waters off Chile that may constitute a fifth subspecies.

Well FDR is not exactly the reason why we have term limits. We always traditionally had a two term limit. This was because our first president only served two terms. So since then while not officially, it traditionally and unofficially expected to only serve two terms as president. With everyone besides FDR trying for a third term failing miserablely. So while you could try, it was seen as un-American to try to do so. The only notable exception was FDR. But FDR was definitely the reason why the Amendment to make the term limits official was created and pretty much uniamously supported. So never could anyone do so again. With Truman being the exception, basically he was the only one who could have tried.
