Makita DLM460 36v Brushless mower short review
My garden haddn't been cut for two weeks and the grass was dry . Unfortunately some of the video clips i took in the middle of mowing when the first pair of batteries went flat didn't record (operator error) !
All Batteries were genuine Makita BL1850b's . The first two batteries were purchased in 2017 and 2018 , the second pair were old stock that were purchased in 2021 but were actually dated 2017 .
To see what the mowers limits were i started the cut with the mower set to the shortest cut and cut through the longest grass . I changed the cut to the middle setting which was number 5 of of 10 settings and cut half the garden , i did this in a circular pattern but then dropped the mower down to number 3 as 5 wasnt cutting much . After cutting the rest on level 3 i dropped the mower to level one . Level one in my opinion was too low and in a couple of places the blade glanced the slabs , my garden is far from level so in the video you see the mower cut out due to lumps and bumps .
This mower looks and feels robust justifying the £350 price tag , it pushes very easily compared to my little (but dead) petrol mower that didn't cut as low but the front end of the petrol mower was forever catching the lumps in the grass with the front of the mower .
I'm very happy with this mower .
