get Makita, I bought M 18 brushless than M 18 fuel, those are out of balance , Makita maybe not that strong but you can use it all day without fatigue with Milwaukee after few screws you will feel that something not right. I bought Makita recently and what a diffrence in ergonomics .

Hi Todd, Since I no longer have the xdt13 I will refer to my current driver- the xdt14 but I believe they are the same for this matter. If you refer to the in-and-out slack the bit holder has within the driver socket, I believe it is perfectly normal for these impact drivers. Mine has it too. If the actual socket that the bit holder sits in is loose than it's probably a malfunction. Hope it helps.

Weirdly it came with my Makita hammer drill and it fits where the hook is supposed to be. I don't remember the exact drill model. I can check it if you'd like.

I really don't know. When I buy a tool, I look for the cheapest one that fits my requirements in terms of quality and functionality. The XDT14 was the right fit for me so I looked no further. Sorry mate.

I believe the xdt14 is simply the xdt13 with mode settings. The xdt16 is top of the line (twin of the Japan market 171), with a more powerful motor and a more compact head.
