What she gave him at the start was actually the ability to understand and use any language other than her hyuman one, which is why he hears the meanings of magic chants (to everyone else, they sound like gibberish). It was one step away from a deific power mortals aren't supposed to have. With the addition of hyuman, that power is complete, hence the overload here. Also, the demon king makes a brief appearance at the beginning of the story in the LN. He sensed Makoto's arrival and was disturbed by how powerful this third arrival (after the other two "heroes") had to be for him to sense it from the other side of the continent.

The anime left out that Emma has been training this whole time. It's why she has powered up so much. And the other major part, was that Makoto had been using the library at school. I found interesting how the goddess actually unknowingly orders Makoto to do exactly what he wanted to do anyway, that is going to defeat the demons at Limia and attacking Fort Stella, ending up giving him an excuse to why he teleported there and a reason to claim the kingdom his parents were from. And he got the last language as a bonus too.

The goddess gave him the ability to speak anything , including animals and the most pure form of magic , others don't understand his magic chanting , he can speak with animals and plants , hell he will chat with the moon in the future. Now why did he get hurt when the goddess made him able to speak hyuman? Well that is something only a god should be able to do, speaking to literally everything is something only gods can do , Tomoe and Root can only speak with sentient beings , Makoto can speak with non-living things and noninteligent animals like horses. It's not like he can speak horse , but he can understand it on a nearly telepathic level. "Good grass"

So it's like the Isekai Ojisan, learning all languages is the most important thing in your whole life. It's just simple as it sounds, however it is a GODLY skill that you can do anything you want when you learn something with the help of the all-language skill
