It is finally time to answer YOUR questions about moving to Spain, more specifically life in Malaga! Thank you for all the amazing questions - they were a big help in terms of filming this video AND for the continuous contemplation process that I'm finding myself in at the moment... 🧐 #movingtospain #movingtomalaga
The questions we are going to cover today:

5) What type of visa do I need to live in Spain?
6) What are the best things to do in Malaga Spain?
Any questions that were left unanswered, please comment below! 👇I will get to them personally! 🙏
We still haven't decided if we will be moving to Spain, but life in Malaga seems pretty good right now. Make sure to SUBSCRIBE to this channel and my email list so you don't miss future updates on our digital nomad life situation!

lived there 3 years. Difficult... It is nice, but it is not a Metropole. Opportunities are quite limited (in many ways). Sun aint everything :) Now in Barcelona and there is no comparison of the plentyness of stuff you can do and have here in comparison. If you head for property, take into account, that if you for whatever reason once will need to work there locally it will be hard and also you have the "giri" factor. As long people take your money, everything is great, of course :)

Great video. Subscribed. What jobs are available in Malaga? Are there tech jobs in Malaga or is that concentrated in Barcelona? Or is it more of a retirement place? Hope you can talk more about Malaga or other Spanish cities as a place for work, not just living.

Malaga looks amazing! I remember first hearing about the city by learning that it was the birthplace of Pablo Picasso. I really like how it is nice and warm there even in the winter (compared to a cold, gray, and snowy Michigan winter), and the Wi-Fi speeds are really fast. I've always wanted to see more of Spain especially that part along with Sevilla and Granada.

Nellie when you visit Sevilla you may want to have a coffee at "El Viajero Sendentario" at the Alameda de Hercules. It is a little Café with tons of books and interesting knick knacks. It has a great atmosphere and better people behind the counter. I don't drink coffee, but my wife loved it there. So you and Greg should be able to get your morning fix! I can write for ever about Granada... I liked it that much. But a great thing to remember is to get to the restaurants relatively early so you can get a high table (you'll notice they are toward the front of the restaurants). So with each wine glass you'll get a free tapas... cheapest way to eat in Granada!

FYI: EU, EEA and Swiss citizens have the right to live and work in Spain without a visa or permit, but if you're staying longer than three months, you will have to register with the authorities and obtain a residence certificate, which requires you to prove you can support yourself financially and have healthcare insurance.

What we are looking for is to be in a quiet, beautiful place, near the beach, good weather, close to supermarkets and places to walk where it is only necessary to take the car when we want to visit a town or city. Ideally, we are looking for a nice neighbourhood just outside a city and with a good transport connection where we need the car just to explore things outside the urban area. Thank you very much in advance for your help. 😊😁🛫

Hi Nellie You've just gained a subscriber 😉 I should be in the area next winter, I will be moto camping. How are the temperatures at night? On paper it should be around 8 - 12°C which sounds nice compared to the winter temperatures here in Normandy... And you should have no more than 3-4 days of rain per month during the winter, tops. However there can be a gap between what the statistics say, and reality.

The best and fastest would be the golden (investor) visa. Buy a property worth at least 500.000€ . Other option (less expensive) is the "Non-profit" residency (meaning that you can't work, only live of off your savings or other income) , you do have to show proof of sufficient income to sustain you (and your family) for an extended period of time. I really want to move to Malaga but I'm worried it will be hard to find a good social group or a girlfriend. I don't speak Spanish and I'm really bad at languages. I speak a bit French but Spain seems better for remote workers. Are there many foreigners? Is it much better to learn Spanish and integrate? I feel like English speaking countries are cold and/or expensive.
@whatsupbudbud
@whatsupbudbud Жыл бұрын
Social groups take time. I reckon' it might take a year to get started. Spanish is not hard at all but you need practice and living on the spot is the best practice you can get. Then it's all up to you - do you purposefully look for connections to practice Spanish, go do activities where you can meet people, are open socially (smile a lot, etc.) and so on.

Cost of living is going to be Pennie’s on the dollar if you are from the North east US, so don’t worry. To be honest the only downside to Malaga is that Real Madrid is in Madrid 😢 #halamadrid

Hi, im Adrian and i intend moving to Malaga as soon as possible. In this regard im looking for a job in health and fitness field for english speakers. I specialize in herbal counseling and in designing nutritional and herbal plans for various health conditions. Also i would like to collaborate with a fitness center and hold fitness classes on the beach. ( training people on the beach would be a great pleasure for me). Other skills: relaxing massage for sporty people, health advisor.

One big question that I have is, What's your source of income.? I know its private, I want to move to Spain, but that's a big issue for me. even though I'm 100% fluent in Spanish

Hi, thanks for your comment. Im self-employed, working as a social media manager, location-independent and my business is based in Germany so I'm not sure I can help you too much with that question 🙈

@@NellieWinter Thanks for your answer, the income is the only thing that worries me, and I do not want to depend on the Spanish economy, (after this crisis, would be hard to even find a part time job there) Probably I should wait a little longer, so I can figure it out, Thanks again

Hii, so I’ve always wanted to live and study in an university in Spain but in a small town like Malaga. My questions are : 1) What type of Spanish are the people speaking there - castellano or anadaluz ? 2) Are there any good universities and do you know anything about the prices? 3) And overall is Malaga a student city?

I'm transferring to Malaga University next year from Southampton, it seems like one of the best universities in southern Spain, and the people I've met so far have been so nice. Most of the cheapest accommodation in Malaga seems to be student accommodation and so many bars have student deals, so I'd definitely say it's a student area if you stay close to the city centre / campus. As for the variety of Spanish, most of what I've heard they have an Andalusian accent where they don't pronounce the 'S' as clearly, but it's easy to get used to. Hope this helped!

Becky Nelson the Spanish are great people. I've lived here for the best part of 8 years and have no regrets. There is a fair bit of paperwork involved before you settle but it's well worth the move. I would not return to UK in a box! The place is in chaos, you only have to compare the fatalities of the covid 19 to realise how much better off we are in Spain. There is also respect for authority here I.e. If the police tell you to do something then it's done, not back chatted or V signed. When people come here with a view to live they should remember that it is a foreign country and things are different, it's not Blackpool pleasure beach with decent weather. Best move I made all day long. X

Sher Dil hi it’s quite easy as an eu citizen to get registered just that for all the IT these people use nothing seems to be linked and you need a form for one thing, take that to another office get another form etc etc. One single transaction and there are several, depending on the time of day can actually take a day. You see all government offices close at 14:00 then reopen at 17:00. Somethings it is best to employ a local solicitor as I did for my Spanish driving licence, simple straight forward one for one swop. Only took 12 months and 3 days, the traffic office kept sending it back with just the car licence on it, which being a professional truck and bus driver is no good to man nor beast. We got there in the end tho.

They should remain in Uk, cause the voted for Brexit. They are against free movement of people, isn’t? Or they just want the rules for the others??
