Just a quick correction, the liver cells don't burst to release merozoites, they're slowly degraded as the parasites replicate, and their plasma membranes are incorporated into a merosome, which is basically just a big bag of merozoites that re-enter the bloodstream. While in the bloodsteram, the merosomes burst to release merozoites.

This is the best video of yours so far (all your videos are bludy brilliant anyways!). Maybe its because the plasmodium topic is generally more interesting than other subjects, or is at least less heavy...I don't know...but please keep making new videos. When I become a medical student, I will definitely refer to your videos!

great video. here are a couple things you might want to add next time. there are five types of malaria plasmodium. you missed plasmodium knowlesi a rare but severe form that generally lives in a type of monkey. also this is the life cycle of p. falciparum. in vivax and ovale a hypnosoite stage occurs in the hepatocyte. this lies dormant for a while and leads to recurring malaria. this is important as treatment can be problematic. finally i think quinine is going out of favour as a treatment due to resistance. Artimsinine based combination therapies (ACT) are more effective depending on the type of malaria. though the price can be prohibitive. i know Im being pedantic. but it might be useful if someone is being tested on the info here all the best
