The world famous Batu Caves of Kuala Lumpur has been in social media because of its vibrant new colourful look, especially on its 272 steps up to the cave temple. The renovation will culminate in a Maha Kumbabishegam consecration ceremony to be held at 7am on 31 August.This is a traditional ritual that is performed after a renovation or after a period of 12 years. The ceremony will see the priest bathing the temple deities with sanctified water from the top. This ritual has deep roots and it is believed to rid bad ills and bring prosperity to society.
