A compilation of all of my favorite scenes from season one of Prodigal Son that fuel my inner fangirl love for Malcolm and Edrisa. I recently re-watched in preparation for season 2 and have been obsessing all over again.
I know I know I am only supposed to make Community compilations, but I HAD to make this. If this show even REMOTELY interests, you I suggest you watch it ASAP season 2 starts tomorrow and I swear you will NOT want to miss it.

You know what I love about this pair, is that no matter how awkward she is, he never demeans her. He doesn't get mad or tease her. He just lets it happen and redirects. He lets her be herself and you can tell he finds it cute sometimes too.

She’s so passionate about her job and she’s always so good at it. Plus her flirting with bright doesn’t even distract her in any way. They remind me of Harry and Ginny whenever everyone else would make fun of her for her crush but Harry was so gentle and kind towards her always.

Exactly!! I love that about Malcolm. He is such a beautiful soul. He never hurts anyone’s feelings but sadly he knows what it feels like to be shunned or mocked and I love, love the fact that he never makes Edrisa feel that way. I really hope she gets over him and they can form a strong friendship.💙

I love how Malcolm is the only one that listens to her nerd out about murder stuff while the others give her dirty looks. Since he gets about the same treatment from the others. I think of them as the two autistics that are on different parts of the spectrum and relate to eachother.

You know what's really sweet about the hug at the end is that Malcolm _instantly_ hugged her back. Usually in shows when someone does a surprise hug, the other person will hesitate for a few seconds and _then_ hug back. But Malcolm literally hugged her back immediately.

I love their playful banter and their own jokes. Edrisa.... I really like her character and I also like the fact that Malcolm is so friendly towards her. They are the most interesting pair honestly.

Edrisa is really cute and I love how she unashamedly accepts Malcolm and is openly excited when he's around, but I think she's best as a friend because she doesn't really challenge him when he needs it

@@nix3424 see everyone can tell they want to try and make malcolm and dani endgame like you said, but if i'm being honest i just don't see any chemistry between them that they should be a couple, i think it would be awkward having them as a couple, i see them being good friends, but as a couple just seems like it would be odd. dani is his work wife at most

@@JP-pp2tn Same. I don't feel the chemistry between Dani & Malcolm. But also, Dani's too 'normal'. I feel like whomever they have Malcolm with as endgame needs to be quirky or silly or something. Someone not 'normal' in the traditional sense. And that's partly why I feel like Edrisa is a better fit. Plus they do have a cute relationship already

The whole show always hinted that Dani was gonna be his safe comfort partner who is patient with and, understands Malcolm, and Edrisa having an infatuated crush on him and his abilities which she quickly got over when she got with Blaze sooo you may have not caught on the right plot probably just because you didn't want to...

I love Edrisa & Malcolm together. As friends and hopefully as endgame. I feel like Malcolm needs someone who will challenge and/or amuse him which Edrisa does. I also feel like anyone 'normal' would be for him, boring but quirky works.

So true, its a big cliché to ALWAYS pair up the handsome smart protagonist with a "badass outspoken female character" but not the nerdy and Clearly interested side character. I mean, Edrisa is literally the BEST BEAN EVER. ♥️

I don't ship Maldrisa, but I agree that Dani isn't someone good for Malcolm. Malcolm always have to walk on eggshells when he talks to her, he is not free to be himself around Dani. Moreover, I just find Dani very toxic. Just ask any mental health professionnal, any person who knows what Malcolm feels regarding his mental health issues, or any person with basic empathy, and they will all tell you that Brightwell is utterly toxic. I really don't get why abusive behaviour is romantized like this on screen. Dani physically and emotionally hurting Malcolm, controlling him, triggering his trauma and not respecting his boundaries isn't "cute" at all. I don't get why the screen writers ignored it.

The show has been very noncommittal about Malcolm's interest in Edrisa and Dani... personally I see Dani and Malcom as siblings, both see Gil as a father figure. I'm hoping season 2 Edrisa gets to see more of the darker side of Malcolm, I think her lightness is good for him! this was great, love the repeat hug at the end! they're adorable 🥰

Prodigal Son is one of the best shows I have ever seen. Tom Payne is awesome, and very handsome. I hope the series last many years. I would love to see an actual production of the show, maybe some day.

She was amusing at first but now I find her ridiculous. Malcolm always looks so uncomfortable when she goes over the top with her crush on him. If the rules were reversed and it was a man continuing to make a woman coworker uncomfortable with his attentions it wouldn't be "cute" at all.
