Жыл бұрын

We dedicate the show to remembering Malcolm X on what would have been his 98th birthday Friday. We begin with an address by world-renowned abolitionist, author and activist Angela Davis on Malcolm's legacy, attacks on the teaching of Black history by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and more. "This is a time to reflect deeply on the long struggle for liberation," Davis said. "And Malcolm asked us to keep our eyes on the future, future worlds, radical democratic futures for all beings who inhabit this planet."

She babbles and has no substance at all sister Shahrazad Ali is more qualified to be speaking on brother Malcolm and his family. During her upcoming she worked with the FBI to bring down certain black organization's and it's well documented. She's always been against the black nuclease family with her so-called black feminist movement and she's never spoken up for black women who've lost their lives or children due to these race soldiers that murder them until after the fact that's why I've never respected this lady she's a agent that white supremacist's society love to put in the forefront as a voice of black people.

Angela, you are very special , you have given your life to speak up for the disenfranchised of this world and for that you have my love and respect. 1965 the year I was born, I came across you in the 80s some years after ' Malcolm's death ,you and others educated me and made me more aware of our world, being white I did not experience your struggle or that of native Americans, Palestinians etc, but for what it's worth I stand by you in your fight against injustice ... all the best from the U.K !

Good morning Amy & Team Democracy Now. Thank you for having Angela Davis on again. She is a beacon for knowledge for us all with all its complexities and twists in our history of America on all sides. RIP 🙏 Malcolm X , Dr. Martin Luther KingJr, we must never forget. We must keep moving forward with an intoxication for love for one another and hold hands in unison to keep the fire has lit by men and woman of great character. Inclusiveness for all races is of great intelligence and insights. With the deepest appreciation and respect for reminding us, we all have red blood. When one knows, one doesn't know, and when one doesn't know, then and only then one may. A mind that is learning is a mind this open, at times we change our minds our perception is not clear at that moment , because a vast more education one must grasp. American history and world histories on all sides.🙏❤️

Democracy Now! is controlled opposition and garbage. Malcolm X himself warned us not to be hyper skeptical of conservatives but to be hyper skeptical of white liberals as they are the ones who will smile in your face and stab you in the back. The sheer irony of this program referencing Ron DeSantis and Republican policies when Malcolm himself would have told you to be wary of those loudly proclaiming they are your ally while, in reality, working against you. Remember - Joe Biden is not just historically anti-labor, he has broken strikes in the last 12 months! The conservatives aren't your problem - they are at least transparent in their beliefs and goals. Democrats are the snakes convincing you they're here to help you when really they're here to sell you further down the MIC/Pharma river.

Facts at least someone in the comments sees right through these agents. Malcolm never respected this lady and it's funny how they wait until everyone from his family has descended to let this agent speak on his behalf. Sister Betty would've shut this down if she was still was here and even the daughter's that were still active would've spoken up. She's a joke and has always been a joke even if you go back to her old interview's you can clearly see what agendas she has and how she was against the black nuclease family.

@@user-xm1et7cz2o I never said Africa or any other place didn’t have great leaders, But let’s focus on Black leaders and movements, Martin L king and the civil rights movement is iconic, the black Panthers showed the world what it meant to be black in America, and Malcolm X’s Life is studied all around the world til this day. Black American leaders went up against the most powerful government in the world and made change. What happens in America affects black people all around the word in one way or another. THE BLACK AMERICAN STRUGGLE IS UNIQE FOR MULTIPLE DIFFERENT REASONS

@@netankha prove me wrong ? What other “BLACK GROUP” has more leaders who made real change and left a life long impact on the world , like the black American Leaders? Are you knowledgeable about on American history to have this debate or are you just salty because my comment came off a lil cocky? I know there’s great African and Caribbean leaders but the black American struggle is unique because we’re up against the US government in America.

@@user-xm1et7cz2o bro, I NEVER SAID BLACK AMERICANS ARE THE ONLY GROUP THAT STRUGGLED. Respectfully, Just be honest can any other black group say They survived 500 years of slavery, The black American should be loved and respected by all black people around the world because we carried it for all black people and still are. Black pepper wouldn’t be famous athletes, movies stars and be able to immigrate to America and walk with their head hell high if it wasn’t for the black American. I SWEAR IM HUMBLE BRO, this isn’t an attack on non black Americans, I love all black people

Many of us viewers greatly value your journalistic professionalism! You're one of few channels regularly affording a platform to the minority and the majority alike, the powerful and the weak, the influential and the voiceless, ..... Much respect to DN and best wishes! Malcolm X was, is and will always be a permanent source of inspiration to past, present and future generations!
