Since I first discovered this band, Malcolm always fascinated me. and as I grew to love them, I realized how right I was to love him. listening to him talk about Angus, and how people will one day see how good he really is, just makes me think, and feel bad, that so many are doing that with HIM now, since he passed everywhere you see credits and praise to him, for his spectacular, one-of-a-kind musicianship and sheer genius. He would've never thought HE would be the one getting seen for what he really is Rock In Peace, Mal! Thank-you!

@@thespiritofnatureswing is when two quavers (eighth notes) are played as a crochet (quater note) followed by a quaver in a triplet pattern. This means that you play one note, wait a bit longer that what is written which will be straight, and then play the second note shorter. So you get a slightly longer note followed by a shorter note, Phil is a master at this on the drums. Hope that helps

This is the most important AC/DC interview imo, not least because the founder and most key member of the band explains in black and white the difference between Rock and Rock N Roll...what the band is all about and the reason their sound is instantly recognisable. You also get to see first hand the value of the playing style/relationship between the brothers.

I always back to this video to remember how much I love AC/DC, not just for the music.. I love how much Malcolm admires and carry his brother from the beggining, to the end of his days. Malcolm was the real brain in the band, a real leader, the most of the times in the shadows at the stage supporting his young brother, and always carrying his back. It brakes my heart when I think how much Angus should miss him. The most beautiful brotherhood in a Rock and Roll band.

One true emotion that comes through with all the ac/dc interviews is the commitment to keeping their sound real and unique. I love that about them. I play along to Malcs rythm guitar, it sounds easy, but he put a lot of effort into their tunes. It freed Angus up to strut his stuff. I miss Malc. Very sad that he ended up like he did. But I do admire the band for carrying on his legacy, he definitely would appreciate that. Rock in Peace Malcom. X

Right..AC/DC is a band that I would.knoe right away even if the song didn't have vocals and I never heard it before. Nobody has their sound and groove..Songs like D.T.and Chase the Ace are instantly recognizable as AC/DC. It was the Young brothers creation. Malcolm and Angus are the greatest rock guitar duo in the history of the genre. I like how they say that there really are only two giant rock n roll bands today. AC/DC and The Stones, and AC/DC bring something else entirely.

Malcolm praising Angus is awesome and needs to be said. We often hear interviews from Angus on how great Malcolm is (and he is) but he's super humble about his own playing. Malcolm is right. Angus has yet to get his just dues as a player. He gets it as a preformer and I think his showmanship often overshadows how great he is and what's coming out of that guitar. To me, Angus is like a SRV, only instead of the blues it's rock n roll. He has the same type of improvising skills where it's as if he's an open vessel and has the ability to tap into a current that very few people reach and it comes out of him naturally. Angus was a prodigy. His vibrato and choice of notes is unmatched. I find him better and way more enjoyable than these technical nonsense shredders. Just listen to Bad Boy Boogie from If You Want Blood. His vibrato and the way he controls the feedback is hauntingly jarring. Even a guy like EVH says one of his favorite albums is Powerage. Angus's solos fit the song like a glove. It weaves naturally into the song and is just another part of it. It never feels separate from the music. The chemistry between Mal and Angus is unmatched. I personally think AC/DC perfected what rock n roll is and took it to it's limits. You can't go harder than AC/DC and still remain a rock band. They're more aggressive than most metal bands. That's why they share a gigantic fan base across the board. AC/DC are an entity entirely by themselves and respected by almost everyone.

Mal was a much smarter guy than many people gave him credit for. He certainly had a razor-sharp vision for AC/DC from the start, and it worked like a charm. Angus and Mal together were the no-bullshit team that made AC/DC the global success it became. Of course, having Bon out the front was an Ace up the sleeve- but I think there was a lot more to their steady rise to fame and fortune than dumb luck alone. No-one gets to the top and stays there without having a brain in their head! RIP Malcolm- leader of one of the very best rock bands that ever existed. "-)

Us fans know how smart Malcolm was. While Angus (and Bon at the time) may be the face of the band and the main attraction, it was established that Malcolm was the brains behind the band. He came up with most of the riffs. He was the silent leader.
