The island you had lunch on your day trip is Fulidhoo. We have been there twice for two weeks. It is smaller and less commercial that Mafuushi and our accommodation was on the beach. It is SLIGHTLY more expensive than Mafuushi however our accommodation was $50 a night and the dives around $58 - price depending on how many dives you do and has a world class dive centre. We posted a video a few years ago - was our first so not great😂 - but never got around on our last trip. I would highly recommend you try Fulidhoo next time - the diving and day trips are incredible.

Merry Christmas!!! Hope you had a special day with loved ones. I have not uploaded in 45 days which is probably the longest I've ever gone without publishing since starting KZfaq. After a good break and recharge, I'm beyond excited for the new year and for the 3 or 4 videos I have shot and backlogged. The Sri Lanka video that is coming soon is one of our best in a lonng time. I've been in Maldives many times (Maafushi as well - Arena beach hotel is quite nice), is my go to place for aqua life holidays. There is no other place on earth so awesome and affordable to do scuba dives.

@@lostleblanc im from maldives and ive seen so many people do videos saying the expensive side of maldives. Reality is there is way more cheaper “local guest houses” here in maldives. Plus you get to visit a resort island for one day less than $200 all inclusive. So what you revealed is a relief. 🤙🏽🌴

Been to Maldives a couple of times and spent $50 for 5day trips. Maafushi isn’t a good option for getting the Maldives experience. But there are many local islands which are secluded and much more quiet and costs much less than $100 a day. If you ever do this again, I urge you to choose a smaller local island.

Been to the Maldives a couple of times (only to local islands), and Maafushi definitely isn't the best one (I think it's maybe the biggest/busiest?). It is probably best for a budget and you do probaby have the best prices/options for the day tours - so I'd go there for a few days, do a bunch of day trips, but then head to some of the others islands for the nicer beaches, but without the resort prices. The local ferry is only $2-3 for a few hours trip, so travelling between islands can be done much cheaper (although slower).

Pre COVID, I saw flights from Boston to the Maldives in March for about $650… now it’s about $900 (not terrible)

I stayed at Maafushi because I can’t pay 700 $ for a night, but it was amazing holiday, marine life is amazing and there are private islands that sell day tickets, so you can still get that resort feeling without spending ton of money

My wife and I were looking at Maldives but I dont know if I can handle the flights from Chicago. Im tall so flying is never a comfortable experience. 5-6 hours....okay. I forget exactly but Maldives was something like 18 hours in the air each way.....ouch

Just came back from Maafushi and Bandos and it truly is the best combination! It is also possible to go on day trips to resort islands from Maafushi for as little as 100 dollars/day. Really enjoyed the episode! 🙂👍

After watching this video, I feel like I spent the whole day in the Maldives. The sounds of waves, soft sand and emotional moments - all of them are perfectly conveyed in the frames. We stayed in Bandos a few years ago,but then there were no sea barriers. Now, they are all around the whole island. I can't stay in resorts with sea barriers. They are ruining the whole view and the atmosphere.

I just turned 40 and we went to the Maldives 🇲🇻 business class with Qatar Airlines and stayed at the Ozen Reserve Bolifushi Overwater Villa with slide into the ocean and then another week on the Emperor Serenity liveaboard for some amazing diving 🤿🐡🦀🐙🐬🦈 it was absolutely the trip of a lifetime 🙏🏼❤️💯
