As someone who lives in the UK this man should be soooooo grateful having a surgeon do his hip replacement straight away. I'm on a very long waiting list for endometriosis removal surgery for two years now. This man needs to be more grateful than this he's actually getting treatment straight away. I don't care what gender the doctor is as long as they are qualified to do the surgery asap.

People shouldn't judge a book by its cover. This man was being very sexist and I am glad he got what he deserved. Men can be nurses and women can be doctors, it doesn't matter. And obviously this man is bad at listening because if he was listening he would have had his surgery under the best doctor in the state. Don't get me wrong, you can have whatever preference of a gendered doctor but you don't have to be rude and obnoxious about it. I would love to have this doctor but my hip is working great! In fact I'm wanting to be an elementary teacher even though I'm a guy. What matters is that I'm learning and taking the proper schooling to become one and I'm sure there are men out there who are teaching already.

He insulted Dr. Dr. Jackson from the moment he discovered she was a woman, even though several people- including her nurse- told him she was the best surgeon in her field, simply because she was a woman. Never judge or underestimate someone based on their gender, especially in medical care as they will surprise you. Eliot seems to have talent for playing griping jerks. Mr. Cook got what he deserved in the end.

And if this was semi realistic, the hospital would've been sued for allowing a new person to perform a procedure as serious as a hip surgery, he would lose his job or face potential prison time if it actually went wrong and there were complications, "Dr.jackson" would have her entire credibility brought into question for allowing him to perform said surgery as a new person, potentially costing her her license, or worse she could be considered an accomplice, and the hospital itself would be shutdown with every other hospital in said chain having to be taken into consideration

Doctors are independent contractors and have the right to accept or refuse to care for a patient. If there isn't trust between a patient and their doctor, find a different doctor. Problem is sometimes good doctors are in high demand so you have to wait for an appointment.

Out of all the doctors I have visited over the past 20 years of my life, only four were male (including two very sweet elderly men). My congenital foot deformity was fixed by a female surgeon when I was 6. I also had experiences with male nurses as a teenager, who were very caring and professional. My best friend in high school, Kevin, went to the USA to study nursing. No occupation should be defined by gender.

Doing a surgeon while you have your emotions against the patient is not a good solution either. Same as doctors should not treat their relatives. It is a good solution to give the patient to another doctor.

Man and Women can do either job and we should never treat anyone different.I use to work in Retail and one particular customer was sexist towards me nice thing was a few customers had my back and stood up for me.this shows us no one should be disrespectful to anyone whoever they are.

Wait, but if that male surgeon is hinted to not be as good of a surgeon and to be clumsy, isn’t that not allowed? I mean hospitals have to be aware of who their surgeons are and how qualified they can be. If the male surgeon isn’t qualified enough to be a proper surgeon than the hospital shouldn’t have hired him in the first place.
