Thanks! You're just missing the many hours of failure before this! And she was very nice with her attacks, which sucks because I would have preferred a more challenging fight to share on here. It's such a massive headache fighting her that I just took this win and made a back up save if I ever wanna fight her rl1 again.

@carljohan9265 You mean the super fast one? That one is really tough, just gotta practice and read it. Everything else can be parried on reaction (the twirl parry window is like a split second later than you expect). I started always anticipating it, especially considering she only has a select few moves that she does when you're in her face.

⁠@@suda_tropah so the non parry roundhouse is avoided if you keep up in her face. I’ve got the slow left, right ones down, as above the super fast two slash has killed me the most, do you walk fwd whilst parrying? I’ve also stopped looking at my characters back and just watch her, which makes phase one seem very passive and slow paced and I’m then instantly overwhelmed in the speed of phase two, will gg eventually.

@christopherrichards4225 Funny coincidence, but I'm doing a seamless coop run with a friend and we just got to her. Yea I do walk forward. There's something wonky with the parry hitboxes that, if you're a hair too far away, they won't work. Definitely be moving forward because her ass is always backing up after a parry.

her fast R1 gets me too, over a 100 attempts and that fast R1 kills me everytime I try to parry, had to summon 😢

@@dheereshagrwalshe one hit you with that attack? I’m curious did you have full health? What talismans are you using? because some talismans (scarseals and soreseals) increase the damage you take from enemies and they shouldn’t be used in mid/end game content becuase of the damage they deal to you. Extra stat points are nice but if you min max your build you won’t need it. Also what vigor level do you have? You should have atleast 40 - 50 if your good, 60 if your prone to make mistakes and panic. 30 if your solo and good but summoning or being summoned you should have 50 - 60 because boss health is increased with each player summon I wouldn’t be surprised if boss damage is increased as well.

@smooktober7639 Yes and no. Being that close does prioritize the parryable attacks, plus she basically won't do her spinning kick that is usually a gap closer. She will do waterfowl and her clone attack. I just got lucky. Check out my newer Malenia fight video! She does it there, plus I dodge waterfowl without bloodhounds step. It's a better representation of her moves, but that video doesn't get as much traction as this one.

Bad news/good news is that it's all muscle memory. It would kill me everytime until eventually I could react quickly enough. My advice is to read the animations; don't just look for the attack animation but begin anticipating when she goes back to her default state because she will instantly throw out an attack right after if you are right on top of her.

I slam the parry button as soon as I see her swing her arm back for the attack, too.

same brother same, only because of that attack I dropped idea of parrying her in 2nd phase, it hits me everytime. Summoned mimic in 2nd phase coz fuck it man, we casuals can't spend 10 hours on a single boss, I already spent like 6

Yea the timing is weird on the slow spin. I remember feeling that it connects later than you expect, so I got into the rhythm of delaying it just a touch from when it looked like it would connect. For the clones, I just run lol. As long as I stood close, she typically would only do her close melee attacks and all I would have to worry about was waterfowl. If it was her poke attack in phase 2, it was a gamble if I could close the distance and get her back into her close quarter attacks, so I would just leave space and see if I would get waterfowl or clones, and then I would just run away.

I do have a more recent video where I don't use bloodhound step. She does her clone attack twice and it happens when she gets out of range of melee. It's like I said, I stayed away when she made space because I knew that's when she would do that attack and just ran. Had to roll a couple times during the first clone attack because I was at the edge of the arena.

Hold back on the stick while pressing the parry button. You can also move to the right a bit with the stick while parrying it.

My hours of practice and attempts were in the double digits, so that was a factor. Staying close to her limits her to several moves, so in my head I know there's only a small pool of attacks she'll do. The rest of her attacks were slow enough that I could react on instinct. That fast attack was the only one that I had to consciously anticipate. Watch if she swings her arm backwards in the way that signals that attack. Also, keep your finger resting on the left trigger/L2 so there's less time between when u press down and the controller reads the parry.

The kick cannot be parried but the one with the sparks can be. I have other videos that show those attacks if you want to take a look.

It’s upgraded. Upgraded weapons do a ton of damage no matter the rune level. You obliterate her with about any weapon if it’s upgraded. There is no time for her to spam her moves. You only end up having to dodge waterfowl a couple times and won’t even see her phantom move most of the time. It’s when you try to beat her with an un-upgraded weapon that it gets hard cause it drags on so long and she will spam all her moves.

Nope, it's literally just practice and muscle memory. I tried this fight again like 2 months back and was missing parries left and right. That attack in particular required the fastest reaction so it was the only one I was really trying to "read". The animation start-up is so quick that I basically was only looking for it to parry while everything else I could parry on reaction. One thing to note is that I'm really close to her always, so she only ever attacks with certain moves. I would start to anticipate that, after a leftward attack and a rightward attack, she might throw out her fast slash. Of course she can also attack the same way back to back so you might just get three of those slashes consecutively. Gotta add in her spirit move and rot attack into your memory for phase 2.

eh shes not really hard to parry. this was my first day fighting her and i can parry most of first phase except i get fucked by waterfowl and one of her fast slash attacks.

to be fair Let me solo Her couldnt ever use parry because he was co-operating. Parry against bosses basically doesnt work in multiplayer cuz the servers are bad. Either even if you parry it dont go through like the boss doesnt get stunned or they do and you still take damage lol. So maybe if this stuff worked in multiplayer same as in singleplayer he would use that. 🤔 i think hes pretty good but since he was literally Soloing her for other people, he couldnt use that move at all. Plus: Let Me Solo Her doesnt use Blood Hound Step to avoid Water Fowl. I dont wanna take anything away from this guy here he is a certified Legend but u rly takin too much away from Let me Solo Her.

You're probably not doing anything wrong! It is just that hard of an attack to parry. It took me a while to get down. You definitely need to train yourself to expect it, so watch for the quick pullback she does at the start of the animation. I could instinctively react to her other moves so I could dedicate my concentration to reading this one. I went back recently and could easily parry it without thinking about it, so once you ingrain your reaction to it, you'll get it easily! I did try to be on top of her at all times. It felt like being too far away could mess up the parry hitboxes. Definitely make sure you're in her face for all parries. Also, it seems like she eats some of the animation frames of that attack when she does it right after standing up. It helped to always be anticipating that attack.

@@suda_trop allright after coming from work, i fgured out what is the problem with this parry YOU HAVE TO BE ON HER NOSE TO GET THIS DONE. I mean close enough to her that you cant get no more closer. that how parry is successful .

@ckgaming2366 It's been a while, so I don't remember exactly the timing for the attacks. The swirl is definitely tricky. I think I parry right when Malenia is starting to face me after completing her spin in phase 1. In phase 2, it feels like it's faster, so I parry a bit earlier. The fast attack just needs to be reacted to, so you just need to practice. It helps to learn her recovery timing after parries and ripostes. That way, you can start to anticipate when the attack will come beforehand.

@cradleoffilth691 yea, the parry is an ash of war that some shields have and you can put on others (should be able to put them on daggers too I think). Need that to actually parry, two handing anything just gives you a block on L1 and the weapons ash of war on L2.

She does it when she dashes in. SInce I'm on top her all the time, she does her regular attacks.

It absolutely is. I can get it pretty reliably now by watching and anticipating the recovery after a parry before she's back to idle and throwing out her next attack. If she's getting up after a riposte or throws out that attack at the start....welp just cross your fingers and hope you can react fast enough.

Peep my rl1 no bloodhound step fight against her. She pulls out all the cancer moves then.

There's only so much a broken man can do, but peep my newer fight. No blood hound step there.

This was back in April of 2022, so like 2 months after release. Maybe some stuff got nerfed like the frost proc? I was also running the dagger talisman and ritual sword talisman so those were boosting damage too. Misericorde was +25 with cold infusion.
