This is very similar to what happened in the Kerala Chief Minister office and at his residence of missing the CCTV footages when an investigation was happening. Incidentally both the Delhi CM and the Kerala CM are great friends.

If the footage has gone missing, the benefit of the doubt should be given to Mailwal's statement, and all those alleged should be sent to jail for min 10 yrs. This will serve as a lesson: if CCTV footage, a core piece of evidence, goes missing, the complainant should be given the benefit of the doubt. It is especially important to ensure the security of CCTV footage from the Chief Minister's house. If it goes missing or is tampered with, the Chief Minister should be held responsible. Additionally, all personnel in the control room where the VCR is located should face a minimum of five years in prison for failing to secure the CCTV recordings. As an alternative, the backup should automatically be stored in the cloud, so even if the VCR is tampered with or damaged, the recordings are still safe in the cloud.

Isn't tampering with evidence a crime and were not the police aware that this was most likely to happen and instead of waiting for FIR to be filed, go to Kejriwal's house on receipt of the very first call and secure the scene of incident? As the house owner was present at the time of the incident, he automatically became the person responsible for what happened during and subsequently.

The Indian Police, as usual, showed how inept they are in doing any job. They stand around waiting for instructions to breathe. When the Police FIRST became aware of a CRIME INCIDENT at the CM house, any other Police force in the world would have lost no time in arriving at the scene and SECURED THE CCVT evidence. BUT NOT IN INDIA. Here, they arrive a few days later, doing the paperwork first, giving enough time for evidence to be destroyed. Don't be surprised to find blank footage!
