I was in Malta in 1975 / 76. Those days you could drive your car onto the beach at Mellieha. Love all your vids. Been following you for sometime. Great stuff.

The Luna in Mellieha has a skybar and pool on roof now, it's amazing. Buses are a nightmare hard to believe Malta is smaller than Arran! Keep up the good work

As a Dane we have our own, specially Built and Danish Designed, Vacation Area behind the Beach in Mellieha, with a tunnel below the road to the beach in front! Separate houses on a large area. During the years my wife and I have been down ten times and I would have liked to bring my Brompton, folding bike for a little longer reach. My dear and similar age (76) wife didn't find that such a good idea, as the insane people still drive in the wrong side, thanks to a former English Invasion many years ago, on narrow and much used roads, so that never happened! Finn. Denmark

Hi Kevin That bar has changed multiple times from when I lived there in 2008 to March this year when i was there. It was once called Paul's bar and I was there in March this year called the Temple Bar on the penultimate night i was there and helped drink the stock before it closed (lovely people and ex pats and the lovely couple had to sell out to Nora's😢😎

We've stayed at the Seabanks afew times, it's a lovely hotel. Those new appartments took years to build! Can't believe they've got a Starbucks there, think it used to be a posh restaurant & the other one was a Mexican? We're really enjoying the Malta videos 👍 S&J 🐘

Great Video brought back memories of my stay in Luna complex in October 23, drank in Nora's bar, barman had never heard of St Mirren but knew a St Paul's and a St Juliens! 😂

Mellieha Bay Hotel the plan was to make it into a 5 star but i think thay have it a few problems and it's on hold.

Looks great Kev, I'm gonna book a break to Malta on the strength of your videos. Can't quite make my mind up whether to stay in Valletta or Melheia ,we would be exploring the island so where would you recommend for a base ?

Hi Jason I still have about 20 videos to come from Malta I would wait until you see them, being honest Valletta is the nicest but its a weekend break at most I think. Mellieha isnt good for a base its bit far up and traffic is always bad so takes a while to get around. Again being honest unless you book a really nice hotel you might like other places I have been to more than Malta .

@@ScotsmaninTenerife Thanks Kev , good of you to reply so quick . Il watch the rest of your videos and make a decision , Valletta does look very nice so might book a nice hotel there and use that as a base . But once again your videos have been very helpful and informative . Thanks Kev 👍

St Pauls bay is one of the best places Bugibba pronounced (boo geee baaa ) and Qwara (awrra ) are good to have as a base we have been to malta twice a year for the past 22 years and now base ourselves here you can get boat trips to comino and gozo from here and the ain bus station can take you anywhere on the island

We have been a few times now and stay in Melheia every time but up in town. We stay at the Martime hotel. Best place in town for breakfast is Debbies the food there is amazing. The Chinese there is the best we have ever been to, enough food to feed an army. you would be right on the bus route ( get a week travel card at the airport) use the buses as much as you can, they get you everywhere., Valetta is wonderful but Melihea is much much cheaper
