As my mum quickly became disabled, her year old, 2kg Maltese/Yorkie became my responsibility. We quickly became the best of friends lol. She is amazing. I love her unconditionally. It's me who suffers separation anxiety the most. I think that a Maltese will always be in my life. The love you get is incredible. Very needy but I love it

Once you have Maltese, you'll know they have unique personality. Maltese attached to their owners. My much beloved Maltese passed away at age 14 years. I remembered she sat at doors forever waiting for me to come home, she only ate whenever I'm there. Whenever I'm at work she slept on my clothes or socks just because it got my scent. She only let me shower her not my wife....she pushes her away with her paws.....12 years after we didn't have any dogs, her memories still with us. Everyone have Maltese....we will know they have unique personality and very attached to their owners. Clingy and loyal.

I have a Maltese and she is viscous when it comes to strangers. Her bark is also nothing to ignore as it sounds more powerful than yappy. I got her from a friend that had treated her horribly and as a result developed ptsd from grooming and other dogs. I’ve had her for about 2 years now and she is the bravest strongest puppy I know. She loves cuddles and I working to make her my service dog since she and I trust each other. She has overcome her ptsd and is strong, I know she’s up for the task. ^^

I'm a Shih tzu person. Maltese is great if your fine with their bark. They bark all the time. While shih tzu is a very calm dog and only bark to suspicious strangers or cats. Shih Tzu is very gentle, especially to kids and everyone. They are active in the morning. While in noon they just want to be your lap dog. Only 1 thing you have to be aware of, it's their hair fur. I have to spend around 30 minute a day just to brush and tight their fur. But its great because you have time for bonding with your dog instead sleep all day. Shih tzu is a great breed for you who are trying to find retire buddies , having a family dog with 1 or 2 kids, and for you who busy on working because they will only sleep on your lap and when you're done with your work they just want to play. That's my opinion if you trying to find a perfect breed for you.

I've had three maltese and one was a male, and the other two were females. Our male was Irish Wonder. The other two were females Shelby Ann, and Laci Hazel. My maltizu is Sophia LaWren AKA Sophie and she's ten yesrs old and weighs 4.6 pounds. She weghed ounces at 3 1/2 months old when I brought Sophie home. She is 10 years old now and weighs 4.6 pounds and Sophie is my Servise Dog, I loved my maltese dearly ❤️ ♥️ ❤and I love my maltizu dearly!❤️In my experience and opinion is you can't go wrong with any of them.

I have a male Shih Tzu. I got him as an eight-week-old puppy and he turned two recently. He is crazy attached to me and will not leave my side unless there's cheese involved. Can be a bit rough on the fingers when in play mode, but he's one of the sweetest puppers I've ever had and I love him dearly.

8 years ago we got our first maltese and fell in love with her, but she was supposed to be my dog but seemed to choose my husband because he was in control of the food and unlike most Maltese, she loves to eat. So a year or so later we got a male and he barely ever leaves my side. In terms of breed standards our male is a much better example of what they should look like. Our female is about 50% larger than our male, she has an underbite, her skin is completely pink and her nose and around her eyes has faded to brownish/pink over the years while the male is tiny with black nose and around the eyes and black patches of skin on his body as they are supposed to have, and his bite is perfect too. They had one litter of puppies and not one had an underbite or all pink skin, and all were smaller than their chubby mom. That said, our female wins the prize for the best personality. She is very calm and confident and friendly with everyone. She enjoys getting dressed up and doing tricks, but her boyfriend is much higher strung. He is terrified of thunder, gets freaked out when he feels different because he got a hair cut or is wearing clothes. He freezes like a little statue if I put a shirt on him. Potty training with him was also harder,as was learning tricks other than sit. He is motivated by affection while she is motivated by treats. It has been a wonderful journey, and they have gotten me through some really tough times. They are like our children and we love them so much that my adult sons have even been jealous.

My sweet Shih tzu Pepper is a black and white beauty who I’ve had since she was 7 weeks, she is now a year and three months, I raised her by myself and there is no stronger bond 🥰🥰❤️❤️ I love her more than my human kid ahaha

That is my Karma, both me and mom are obsessed with her (we share her each gets her 1 month, because i left her there 9 years ago for some exams and my mom fell in love. When i took her back she got depressed and my dad actually called me begging me to take the dog back :)) Mom was not a dog person at all, she called Karma a rat when she saw her as a baby). Now we love her more than each other, crazy thing is that i did not even like dogs before i saw a shih tzu either and i was not supposed to get her as i was underage, living on my own, had school, cooking, studying, cleaning the house etc...but we did it she is 10 years old now. She did not get the temperament memo tho as she really makes justice to her name.

My Gigi is a rescue from a x co-worker. She was bought only for breeding & had two litters before I got her. She was only 3 years old. She was full of fleas & her fur was mated. She's black & white purebred. I took her to the groomers & had her shaved but not too much. She never got to be a puppy & doesn't play with toys. She loves to cuddle with me & she sleeps with me but she does snore loudly, then I carry her out to the living room to sleep in her own bed. She's 11 now & will be 12 in November on the 25th. She is healthy. I also got her fixed & chipped. She loves her walks every day. My dad & I have spoiled her. Love her. She's my furbaby.

I have a shorkie. A shin tzu and yorkie. He is absolutely the best dog I’ve ever had and that means a lot because I have loved each dog I owned. But this dog is so smart (literally had a large vocabulary) and picks what toys to play with. He was easy to train and housebreak from the very beginning. He’s social, affectionate, and at 13 years old, still loves to play. His health is excellent. He loves to cuddle. Love him very much.

I have a 17 week old Malshi, (half Maltese/half Shih Tzu) named Daisy, and an 8 year old Morkie (half Maltese/half Yorkshire terrier) named Mindi. My little Malshi is absolutely adorable. She is developing more Shih Tzu body type, but more of the Maltese facial features. This mix is called “Teddy Bear” and Daisy truly looks like a fluffy teddy bear. As we were pushing the pups in their dog stroller, several times people stopped us to comment that they thought she didn’t look real at first, until she moved they thought she was a stuffed animal! Her colouring is Shih Tzu, white with black markings, although most of her hair feels like Maltese. She’s very loving, very active and friendly. Since she’s a young puppy it’s hard to tell a lot about her personality, except she definitely likes to please us and she wants our attention. When I have to leave her for a couple of hours she gets pretty anxious, but she’s young. Although my Mindi is a 50%/50% mix, her appearance is much closer to a Maltese, as is her personality, with a beautiful, white/blonde colouring. She is totally devoted to me and mourns if we are separated for a day, although she loves other family members and is friendly with others. I have had lots of dogs, but have never had one like this one. She knows when I’m going to get a migraine before I do and warns me so I can take my meds. After I came home from an emergency surgery she laid next to me, put her paw across me and cried. She is incredible. Both were easy to potty train and easy to train and teach tricks. At her recent 14 week vet visit tiny Daisy sat on command and gave a “high five” for the vet. Mindi has flown with me on 27 flights and loves it. Always well behaved and curious. I love the Maltese mix in both of my pups.

I have a Maltese and a Maltese shih tzu both are beautiful dogs. The Maltese is only really attached to me and the shih tzu loves everybody. They are both nearly 12 and have never been sick and are great companions for each other if I have to go out.

I just caught your video for first time. For years I was a strictly German Shepherd lover but a spinal condition, worsening allergies, and age made me have to consider a smaller dog once I found I no longer had the stamina once my last Shepherd was gone. My daughter showed me a picture of a new popular breed "yorkies". It was adorable. I fell in love and we got our " baby" the runt of his litter at age 2 months. We adore or little guy who is now 8 years. When he was 6, my daughter fell in love with a shelter picture of another dog. She was so smitten, She drove for two hours and rescued her. This precious is a mixture of shin Tzu and Maltese. She instantly bonded and we adore both. I wish there were videos of the newer created breeds that have come along .

One of the pictures in this video is actually a Westie, rather than a Maltese. Both Maltese and Shih-tzu are wonderful dogs. My Maltese boy died at 14 years old and I will get another one some day. He was so smart. I could train him to do anything...go get my shoes, pull the paper off of the printer, go get diapers for the baby, get things that fell under the furniture, growl or whimper on command, go in the dog house and so much more. I have heard that some of them are hard to potty train. I had to convert mine from peeing on potty pads to going outside thru a doggie door. He would pee on bathroom towels or throw rugs on the floor in his early days....looked like a potty pad to him. I don't blame the dog since that's what he was trained to do.

Well, I don’t have to choose. I have a 3 month old Malshi puppy and he has the best traits of the 2 breeds, intelligent, playful, generally quiet and self entertaining himself, easily be trained and he doesn’t shed. For the appearance he’s more like Shih Tsu, multi-colour, single coated and his skin is pink; personality wise he’s the combination of the better traits of the 2 breeds. I couldn’t be happier with my little fur ball.

I have 4 Shih Tzu's and they are the most sweet, happy and loyal dogs. They love being with anyone of the family and bark at anyone who enters our home, believing they came just to visit them. Then just jump on your laps and expect you to pet them.

I have a mix of both, he's my baby. Unfortunately, he was maltreated by his previous owner..he's very loyal to me and the most smart dog I've had!

My family has a maltese, excellent guard dog.. picks a fight with my belgian shepherd, and every unlucky stray he sees. But very intelligent, and well behaved when around people he knows. He rarely makes noise and is camera-shy. He goes inside my parents room when everyone’s too noisy.. Lastly, he likes to ignore us calling his name when he’s resting but jumps the second he hear my cat’s name... Yeah, that’s a Maltese.

I adopted my Shih Tzu Henry when he was 9 years old he's 14 now. He is the most wonderful dog. I take him everywhere and he's well known by everyone. When we go to the $General they call out that Henry's in the house. He's best thing that ever happened to me. Because of his age I fear the day when he's gone although when we go out he acts and plays like a puppy .

I have a shih tzu and boy he is the cutest and most loveable, though sometimes he likes sleeping more than me Lol! I also love experimenting with his fur, my fave hobby and our bonding time is combing his fur, I just dyed his fur blue 3 days ago 💙 But looking forward in owning a maltese soon also a very cute baby 😍

I have the best of both. We bought a Malshi and she is lovable, smart and very set in her routine every day. She loves to snuggle and also my therapy dog for my anxiety. We bought her when she was 12 weeks old and now 11 years old.

I have a shihtzu and she never eats her poo 😂 she is very obedient but not good with other dogs or humans she doesn’t know because of trust issues and she got scared by a huge dog when she was a pup

My mamas Maltese had no fear. He weighed 16 lbs. He would step to anyone he thought going to hurt my mom whether the were or not.

I feel like mine dog is the only of the maltese breed that doesn't like strangers and dogs. She is well behaved and socialized really, but still, she always barks at bigger dogs, and kids usually, vet says it's just her temperament

I have a shih tzu. I wouldn’t trade the world for her but I recommend getting a Maltese unless you already have had experience with shih tzus. I have always had shih tzus growing up too

I’m a shitzu,they so adorable my daughter has one so carm barely barks and doesn’t like strangers touching them,as for friendly they sure are those pet’s get trained quickly he’s two now..they gave it to her when he was anew born ❤️
