MALTO | Build Your Local - Episode 2

Kansas City will always be the place where Sean Malto goes to reset, recharge, and give back to his community. But even more importantly, it will always be his home. After all, we're all just kids from somewhere who were lucky enough to fall in love with riding a skateboard. It was our local park where we met our best friends, it was the local shop who we wanted nothing more than to be sponsored by, and it was the local spots where we learned how to film a part. Growing up as skateboarders, we become a part of our local skate community, and when people support their communities, they give skateboarders the foundations to follow their dreams. This is great. He loves his city, and hangs out with his friends and is still humble and doesn't let being pro and sponsored by Nike get to his head and gives to the community that helped him because the person he is today. Great dude. And people still like to talk down on skaters. The skate community is probably the most giving, generous and least judgmental community you could ever be in.

We'z building our own sk8park in small town Nebraska. Worked on the design for 2 years with locally inspired themes (railroad, Platte River...), have town support/funds, and starting to ready the ground. Love the "stay local" vibe on this vid!

You may not have the money but if you can ok influence your friends to Skate, that's where it starts. More and more people have to build interest and the market will appear.

Kc misses you malto. You're only here for a few moments and then you're like gone again. I remember running into you at parks all the time. I understand tho. Kc is still the greatest. But if these people are saying you are giving back I question what is it? You got a private park that's empty most of the time. These skaters want an indoor place so we have somewhere to go during the harsh winter
