•Malvani Masoor
*Ingredients:
Masoor Whole 2 bowls
Onion 1no.
Ginger Garlic Chilly Coriander Paste 1 1/2 tbspon
Cumin Seeds 1 tspn
Mustard Seeds 1tspn
Turmeric 1/2 tspn
Coriander JeeraPowder 1 tbspn
Red Chilly Powder 1 tbspn
Garam Masala 1/2 tspn
Kokum 4-5 nos
Jaggery 1 tbspn
Salt
Oil
For Paste
Onion 1 no
Grated Dried Coconut 3-4 tbspn
*Method:
Soak the masoor overnite.
Roughly chop one onion.
Heat oil in a kadhai… add mustard seeds and jeera. Add the onion and saute until soft.
Add the masoor and saute on high flame for 2-3 mins.
Add 1 1/2 tbspn ginger garlic chilly and coriander paste, turmeric , jeera and coriander powder, red chilly powder and garam masala.
Saute for 2 mins after adding the masalas. Then add water , cover and allow it to cook.
In a separate pan add sliced onion and 3 tbson grated dried coconut. Roast in very little oil until golden. Cool and then make a paste along woth 2 spoons cooked masoor.
Add salt , kokum and jaggery. Add water and simmer for 4-5 mins.
Once the masoor is properly cooked add the above made paste.
Adjust the consistency and simmer for few minutes.
Add chopped coriander and serve hot.
