So much fun to see what you bought. Love your fabrics and your applique flower with the clamshells blew me away. When you show your fabrics, I find myself pretending to have bought them too... that way it is easy on my pocketbook! haha

I’ve made a quilt with a bundle of Kim’s Worn and Washed fabrics. It was the first one I made and I’m so proud of the quilt even though it has many imperfections. Kim has a delightful little book, recently published.

Lovely haul! The Worn and Washed was especially interesting I thought! I haven’t seen something like that before. Ruby Star Society is one of my favorites. It just feels so good and I love it for hand sewing. Those Bohin long appliqué size 10 are one of my favorite hand sewing needles ever. I use them for both EPP and hand piecing. I like my Sue Daley size 11 milliners a little bit more but they are a lot more expensive and not as easy to find.

Applique is sooo easy if you use bondaweb, there's so many different methods out there that it is overwhelming at first but it is easy and fun 💖

Love the haul of fabrics you have there. I find it so hard to rein myself in when looking at fabrics to buy, sigh! So many different tangents you can go on! Id be keen to try the temperature quilting project. 👍

For appliqué I love to use glue instead of pins. Sue Daley makes a good one, just tiny dots away from the folded edge holds beautifully and no pins at all! Try it! I am a 30’s reproduction fan, too. I’m currently working on a traditional Grandmothers Glower Garden and I am trying to make each hexi flower in a different fabric. No repeats.

Such pretty fabrics! I’m very interested in learning more about Kim Porter. I have started using men’s dress shirts in my quilts, and the idea of getting a bundle of assorted colors and prints from other reclaimed sources is fantastic. I also love your appliqué project. You have a lot to keep you busy!

What a wonderful collection of goodies you bought at the show. I love all the fabrics. Although I haven't finished my other projects, a temperature quilt sounds so interesting. I began a crocheted temperature blanket a few years ago and it has remained unfinished. 🙃 xx

I absolutely love the idea of a temperature quilt and would love to join in. I’m just venturing into the world of quilting, and I’ve very recently bought a 10 inch layer cake from Ruby Star Society. I want to use this in a quilt by Jessica Dayon on KZfaq. You bought some amazing and gorgeous fabrics……you won’t know what to sew first!

Good morning, a temperature quilt is when you make a block each day where the colours reflect the daily temperature. It's a simple and small block esch day. I'll make a video explaining it all

Hi, nice haul!! I didn't really like temperature blankets, when everybody seemed to be knitting or crocheting them. But now I am warming up to a quilted one. Kimberly Jolly, from fat quartershop is making one and I think that one is gorgeous! It's not the easiest, so I am not that sure I would do the same pattern. My main objection is, I think, that I am quite particular about color combinations. I could not do a real scrappy quilt; it's always 'scrappy within a colorscheme'. Having a backgroundcolor also helps. So I perhaps I'll join you, sewing a little block every day, or every week does sound like fun. Do you have any patterns in mind yet?

I do find the knit/crochet version to be quite labour intensive so I'm thinking a simple square a day with an easy shape appliquéd onto it (using whichever technique you like). I am also the same with colours so I'll be doing a pastel tone

It's typically done in knitting/crochet, where you knit a row per day in a set colour which depicts that days temperature but I am going to do a patchwork version.
