Chico Malo: An aniri is a narrative section of a pansori, the traditional Korean song story. The zither is called a gayaguem and the bamboo flute is a daegeum. The featured guest is the pansori singer Kim Junsu who sets the stage with the aniri intro and he's joined by a drummer who is also part of a pansori performance. The whole thing is clever af and was brilliantly executed by everyone involved. GGBB: The musical you were thinking of with the star-crossed lovers from competing gangs is probably West Side Story but imo GGBB was going for a Grease vibe with the good girl falling for a bad boy. I think the hip hop dance break is meant to express how a good girl feels when she gets turned on by a bad boy and unleashes her wild side. lol Imo the song would have been too PG Hallmark greeting card cutesy without it and that's just not MMM's style.

Aniri ver is referring to the the Pansori singer intro. He is the feature. Solar met him when he appeared in a competition show for traditional music that Solar was one of the judges for. Since the album is Act 1, Scene 1 they are absolutely doing stage plays in both songs. I have to think that part of why they went with this concept was Solar's experience performing in Mata Hari.

Chico Malo got me on chokehold. There's so many things to look at and try to understand. GGBB has a catchy chorus as well. Both MV are creative. It's so fun.

I think your thinking of the musical Grease. It was the first thing that came to mind for me. My wife is a huge fan of it. I think the shirt matches her skin tone so well because it's translucent.

They are just so creative and they really do nail whatever concept or genre of music they try. You should definitely check out their live stage performances for this comeback. I can't wait to see them when they do their US tour in May. Will be experiencing their live vocal and performance for the first time ever and I know it will be a life changing experience!

Chico Malo is Pansori, a traditional Korean form of telling story with song, with a Mamamoo twist. As an old white dude from the US Midwest, I love it. I think it is much more accessible than other traditional Korean music styles. But I love musicals, so I might be biased. Whenever I hear that Pansori vocal style, I am instantly drawn in.

That dance break was the good girls going a bit bad girl, best part is when they return to that Grease set, they have those blank faces, pretending good girls would never go bad. This is the first part of the story the girl gets together with the bad boy, chico malo is the next part, bad guy is not really a good husband, so divorce as indicated by the middle fingers they flash. there is a third song on the album, a ballad, LLL which is love, loving and will love, though translation could mean they are back together or remembering the love. That one has no MV yet but Moonbyul says one is coming. Moonbyul and Solar did their own reaction video to their own song Chico Malo on Solarsido, amusing and insightful.

RJ, as im sure you've seen this comment before. but i couldnt help but notice you havent reacted to the Immortal Songs. If you do like mamamoo, do yourself a favor and watch it. doesnt matter which one, but if you're going to react to only 1, i HIGHLY suggest the immortal song medley. you will regret every day you didnt react to it sooner

GGBB would be a perfect song for me if they didn't put the dance break in the audio😭 I don't want to have to skip it every time but it throws the song off so I just don't listen🥲 it's so upsetting cuz the song is very much my taste. It gives Teen Beach Movie soundtrack to me but in the best way idk❤ (unrelated to the actual songs, it took me too long to realize that they were doing the X with their middle fingers in the Chico Malo choreo☠️)

You missed 솔라(SOLAR), 문별(MOONBYUL) - Promise U Official M/V kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d7aRiZiQtcmYfWw.html Mamamoo+ Act1 Scene1 Chico Malo = Bad Boy .... GGBB = Good Girl Bad Boy. And BOTH M/V's have a "theatrical" Theme. "LLL" doesn't have any real connection to the above... Not even a "real" M/V. MAMAMOO+ ‘LLL’ kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q7hpqZeSlZiodJs.html Appears to be a Bonus for Fans, which I'm NOT complaining about. GGBB has a retro "Grease" sound and look, and Chico Malo having a Korean traditional/Modern mix.
