im so glad that moonbyul has gained so much confidence. i think she doesn't like the girly sexy type style that the others have and im glad that her company has let her branch out and be more herself cause i think it has really helped her stage presence.

Their company also didn't money in the start. They literally had to go into debt to train and debut Mamamoo, so the girl and the company basically had one shot at it

@@tigerdog7241 That is very common among smaller companies. The initial costs/debt for training/debuting a group tend to range between $1-2.5m USD depending on the size of the group and various other costs (dorms, transport, stylists, MV costs, lesson costs, stage costs etc). It usually takes years for even a successful group to break even and pay off their debt, at which point they can actually start earning their own money (while the company debuts another group in the meanwhile, usually). Even fairly successful groups have spent their whole contract only really just breaking even, which is what happened to groups like Fiestar. But yeah, the break-even model is pretty much the norm for small companies. Blockberry tried to change that with an investment model for Loona and that's backfired on them in a pretty big way recently.

More like God bless their hard work, when they pay all their company's debt off (around year 2 since debut) they were given some freedom and more money to spend on mv, stylish and etc. In moomoos years this is from Decalcomanie era and so on...

@@pastellcutie it is only one stage. There are girl groups who almost never sing live amd yet, mmm never stopped amazing us with live performances. Plus that was a stage from a little while after theire debut. It is normal to be nervous at the first stages and lip-sync. But I think the fisrt show in this video was a mash-up from more stages so they obviously put music over the video

Their debut song was SO unique, specially for GGs. Mr. Ambiguous absolutely did justice to what the Queens are serving till this day- sass, musicality, confidence, feminine charms and lots of uniqueness!

That's why I fell in love with MAMAMOO.. Sadly much later! But never less it was 'starry night' and its release that got me, I am making my way to catching up!The thing with girlgroups is they are always 'different' or so they said... But they weren't- at least not to me. MAMAMOO? They define different and I love it!

마마무의 최고의 강점은 모든 멤버가 라이브가 가능하고 각자의 퍼포먼스가 있으며 매 무대마다 다른 애드립이 가능하다는 것이라고 생각함 각각 자기만의 개성이 있어서 멤버들 파트가 바뀔때마다 어떻게 부를까 어떠한 제스처를 할까 기대하고 보게됨 이 멤버 그대로 오래 음악했으면 좋겠음

MAMAMOO is indeed a woman group. Their concepts have always been mature ever since the beginning. Their performances from their rookie days didn't look like performances by rookies. The vocals and the confidence my gosh! They're so talented. They deserve more recognition.

After I watched that short drama that Moonbyul shot with other idols (Seulgi, YooA, Somi, Sujeong, Sohee and Euna) I became even fonder of her. When she talked about being forced to become a rapper to debut in Mamamoo because there were too many vocalists, and then she talked about mainly just standing or dancing in their performances because the rap parts are short... My heart sunk. I appreciate her, her personality, her strength a lot more now and I can't stop looking at her in these performances

I also saw that she’s sad performing in a VOCAL TEAM. No one new about this until ofc I saw the video. She was the leader and main vocalist of her old group and it’s kinda sad because as you said, RBW forced her to be a rapper from the drama because her voice suits more in rapping and my heart melted when Hyejin/Hwasa helped her in rapping.

아니 도대체 얘네 깔데가 뭐가 있음 솔직히 이해가 안됨 노래실력 넘사벽이지 게다가 각자 창법이나 노래색이 달라서 하나도 안질리고 이번 곡 이랑 화사 솔로나온거 보니까 춤도 잘추지 mr 필요없을 정도로 안무하면서 보컬 1도 안흔들리지 외모도 그냥 예쁘기만 한게 아니라 개성도 있고 매력도 많고 무대 장악력도 좋고 곡도 좋고 곡 분위기맞게 무대하고 애드립까지 해주고 팬심많고 평소 무대도 하나하나 열심히 하고 입덕 포인트도 많고 걍 얘네 회사가 작정하고 마마무 데뷔시킨거 같은데 난 솔직히 가요대전이나 그런 무대볼때 3사 기획사 걸그룹애들보다 마마무 무대가 더 기대됨 진짜 귀랑 눈 강제호강관광시켜줌

They really ruin the performance though, and they leave zero room for the singers to actually interact with the audience ... Of course I understand that there isn't much that can be done since there is no backing band (just a backing track) but still, it would be so much nicer if the crowd was singing along as opposed to yelling like that ... I understand that this is part of the genre but I find it borderline disrespectful of the work the singers put into their craft.

@@syafiqaszamin6411 Heya - I understand that it is a part of it of course ; however, I don't believe that they are composed/written by whoever produced the song originally. I am only familiar with the ones that go with Mamamoo songs and I noticed that despite the variety of their releases all the "fan chants" sound the same really - all following a structure similar to military marching chants, without any melody. Mal Lory during the first couple years they wore the same style of heel, the chunky ones from the beginning. They’ve said before that they painted those shoes sometimes to match the outfits. During Um ou ah yea they still wore heels but they wore new heels. They overall had more outfits to choose from from then on. They also said after they won rookie of the year in piano man era they paid off their debts and thus had more money for comebacks

이렇게 보니까 문별 랩 정말 많이 발전한거같음 전께 나빴다는게 아니라 톤도 점점 안정되고 가사도 그 위트나 깊이가 하루가 다르게 발전해서 듣는 맛이 있음 문별 빼고 저 보컬 세명이었다면 살짝 지루할 수도 있는 무대인데 감초같은 역할을 너무 잘해내고있어 보기힘든 개성강한 걸그룹이라 볼때마다 대단하다생각함 솔라는 사기캐로 시작해서 외모든 뭐든 변하는게없는게 너무 신기함 세월의 흐름이 전혀 느껴지지 않고 굳건한 중심역할이 독보적임 휜화가 개성이 강한편인데 그걸 하나로 아우르는 뭔가가있음 걍 대박이다 지금도 대박인데 더잘될거야

다른 멤버 파트 같이 하는거는 팬들한테 멤버 따라하는거 보여주려고 연습한거 같아요 팬싸 영상중에 화사가 솔라언니가 문별언니 파트를 열심히 따라하고 있더라고 이야기 한거 있어요.. 솔라 뿐만 아니라 마마무 멤버 전체적으로 서로 무대에서 킬링파트를 어떻게 하는지 특징을 잘 알아요.. 무대를 하면서도 그게 보인다는게 대단한 일이죠..

아니 미스터애매모호랑 피아노맨 이 두 무대만 딱봐도 마마무는 안뜰 수 가 없었네 ;; 4명의 합이 너무 완벽함. 진짜 안뜰수가 없었던 그룹. 4명 다 끼가 흘러넘침 그리고 무대를 보는데 무슨 뮤지컬 하나 보는 듯 한 느낌임 그냥 퍼펙트. 레전드 그룹임

I remember when I first saw their debut news on allkpop and thought "what a weird group name". I listened to Mr. Ambiguous very casually on MusicBank while waiting for my favorites. I did not give them the attention they deserved until they appeared the second time on IS2 with Flying in the Night Sky. Then You're The Best was released and I decided to become a proud Moomoo because these girls are precious and crazily talented. They are hard-working as hell because they were coming from a small company like BTS with not enough capital to promote them crazily like the big 3 groups. They deserve so much more than even the attention they are having now. With the versatility in concepts, bold personalities and amazing singing and rapping skills, they should be THE girlgroup of their generation.

데뷔때부터 신인 답지 않은 실력 곡 분위기 퍼포먼스 등등 으로 눈을 사로잡은 괴물신인이었지 그 이후로 음오아예부터 대중적인 음악을 장르로 해서 더 사랑을 받았고 피아노맨부터 점점 응원법 소리가 커지는거 보면 진짜 사랑받고 있는걸 알수있음 타이틀 곡 2/3 한번쯤은 1위를 했고 멤버 4명의 솔로곡이 다 빌보드 차트인 한 걸그룹은 국내 유일 이니까 마마무가! 심지어 휘인은 발라드.... 고고베베 전까지는 안무도 자기들이 짜고 작사 작곡은 당연히 하고 그 노래들이 수록곡으로 되고 콘서트에서 부르고 신인이어도 서로 디렉팅 하면서 녹음하고

Every time that I watch these young ladies perform I think of a saying from about 60 years ago. "Ginger Rodgers did everything that Fred Estaire did, but backwards and in heels." Mamamoo, each of them, are fabulous entertainers with truly broad ranges in their abilities and talents. Hard work, time, comraderie, intellect, integrity, and big hearts have brought them a very long way. I am eagerly awaiting their future projects, group or individual.

looking back on the older stages, I remembered one of the reasons why mamamoo didn't do intense choreos like hip: those crazy thin+ tall high heels they always wear to the point ppl are shocked in 2018/2019 and be like holy mamamoo so short O.O

난 피아노맨 최애..컨셉 노래 가사 춤(특히) 기존 걸그룹이랑 확실히 다르고 춤이 너무 노래찰떡이라 아직도 앓는 곡ㅠㅜㅜ맘무가 쪼금더 유명해지고 나중에 나왔더라고 진짜 메가히트곡이 될 수도 있었을텐데라는 아쉬움ㅜㅜㅜ
