Before the 4S4C era starts, Byullie tends to strain her voice a lot because the people they worked with prefer her with a higher pitch (like most other female rappers in K-pop). However, ever since this era, they finally LET her SING more in their tracks with a lower register so that she could be MORE comfortable. This era STARTS with "Paint Me", "Starry Night", etc. 😭♥️

The "i miss you" lyric video had several mistakes, as is common for those (olivia white's channel is the best to check for those for mamamoo, now that we've lost mamamoo archive) The part where you were talkinfmg about all 3 getting that one part modulating their voices was sadly one of the wrong parts. That wasn't hwasa the third time, instead wheein did the first part of it and solar tagged in for the second part. And the 'i miss you so much' attributed to wheein at the end was actually hwasa They had some incredible live performances of this song, though the 2019 one for queendom quickly became the fan favorite when it was released (Also, as someone else pointed out, they have an ost called "i miss u" so glad that didn't cause any confusion)

There are 2 helpful guides which mostly Moomoos will recommend to you, its the Purple Hawke Guide which focus on each of the members and has more detailed info but its already outdated. The other one is from Moo YT which is the latest guide consist of 2 parts, intro of the members and history/discography of the group. BTW, there is a live version of I miss you which they perform during Queendom. This is one of my fave performance from them cause it was dedicated to the fans. Also, if you have time please react also to Hwasa and Loco collab ‘Somebody’ it was also a latest released from her.

The 2019 version of I miss you would be the Queendom version. They changed the lyrics a little bit to make it a love song for their fans, and it really hit in the feels. Even the other idols had goosebums and were tearing up.

In addition to the other things, the Wind Flower video is an homage to a famous noir director. It was shot in Hong Kong a lot of the locations and color palettes are from his work. The taxi scene (and the McDonalds) are shot for shot recreations from one of his lesbian films. I also love that Moonbyul is wearing a Buffy t-shirt in the dancing in the street section. I did say on the previous video that you wanted the Queendom version (that would be in 2019) of I Miss You. The album version is certainly good but the Queendom performance is definitely superior. I totally understand not remembering that though.

I miss you is from there melting era which was there 4th album. During their earlier albums, moonbyul was still not really comfortable with her singing abilities. It wasn't until Purple album (6th one yes I am era), where she had her first solo song, love and hate, which was a track included in the ablum. Moonbyul has really grown as an artist. She has become confident in her singing abilities which has given us amazing solo songs from her such as lunatic, eclipse, selfish, and cheese in the trap. Her voice really is amazing. 😄

Virtually every scene, location or outfit in the music video referenced at least one of his movies, if not more. One of the easiest and most pointed out examples is the part where solar puts her head on moonbyul's shoulder in the taxi. This is exactly a scene from 'happy together', a gay romance wkw filmed. Posters promoting the movie even used that scene There are a lot of other references throughout and a small online film magazine compiled quite a lot of them for one of its articles (with stills comparing shots from the mv with those they were an homage to) The mv's director went so far as to use the same type of camera wong kar wei did and even made sure the color pallette was identical to what he used

"Wind flower" was the third title track in their 4 seasons, 4 colors project where they released 4 albums in the span of (just over) a year. The concept was sort of explained with the pre-release "paint me", equating emotions to colors Each album focused on a season, a color and a member of the group (by giving her a solo song on it). The members all did indivisual takes on the general emotion associated with both that color and season, as seen in the title track mvs First album was 'yellow flower', focusing on spring, the color yellow and hwasa. It sort of also signified new beginnings, as that is often associated with spring. Title track was "starry night", promoted b side "star wind flower sun" and hwasa's solo "be calm". All three songs have mvs, the first two were filmed in new zealand, and "swfs" was primarily written by solar as a love letter to the other three members and the fans Next album was 'red moon', for summer, red, and moonbyul. Obvious choice for emotion was passion, which you'll see a lot in the title track, "egotistic". Promoted b side was "sleep in the car", a song about some of the bad parts of idol life (sadly no mv, but fun live stages), byul's solo was "selfish" (also her solo debut song. Featuring her close friend from red velvet, seulgi) The third album was 'blue;s', basically meant to be 'blue sun' as it focused on solar as well as the color blue and autumn. Well, i was going to wait until finished the first mv to leave a comment, and that is still coming... but talking about wheein's hair made me want to say something about that She is the member who tends to do the most drastic changes with her hair from comeback to comeback, though that has rather quieted down in recent years. The other members have also been less drastic with theirs, overall, too, so hers still tends to have the biggest changes, even if minor compared to previously Originally, hwasa made the biggest change, chopping her hair off before they debuted, despite that the ceo said, then dying it orange for a while while it was still growing back (becoming one of her iconic looks and helping birth her 'hwa-lion' nickname/meme). She has mostly settled into long black hair for quite a while now, with brief forays into things such as blue. Even if much of what we see is extensions (same for all the members. Once upon a time, wheein said she had the longest hair out of the members, even though it was just barely past shoulder length. We're so used ro seeing them with their extensions it's hard to tell how long any member's hair actually is at any given time) As for wheein, she'll go from short blonde hair ("starry night". One of her top looks), to long black/dark brown with choppy bangs ("egotistic") to short dirty blonde ("windflower") to mid-length light brown ("gogobebe") in the span of a year, following that up with one of her most stunning/iconic looks ever, blue-haired for "hip" She... has a love/hate relationship with bangs, often getting them not too terribly long after many style changes, then getting frustrated with them a few weeks later and wanting to grow them back out... it is a vicious cycle she can't seem to break herself out of (and i always laugh because it was wheein's very lack of bangs when hwasa first saw her in middle school that made her want to be friends. I would like to recommend that if there isn't a music video for a certain song, a live performance is the way to go, since they are the QUEENS of performing. I'm guessing the 2019 performance of "I miss you" was the queendom performance, which is legendary! I really do recommend that you guys watch it (It doesn't have to be for a video) in your own time. some suggestions for what to watch next is maybe one of their most recent songs as a group "mumumumuch" and "WAW : where are we now". There is also many of their solo releases that really show off who they are and what kind of musician they are it would take too long to list some if their solo stuff (because all of them are so good and unique it would be impossible to choose) I would love to see your guys' content on mamamoo :)

From how much she loves “I Miss You,” I have some recommendations for Mamamoo songs Brittany would probably fall in love with in case y’all haven’t already found them. - “Paint Me” from the Yellow Flower album. There are two versions to this song: the original in the MV for it and the Orchestral version from their 4 Seasons concert. Most fans can’t decide which version they like better - “Where Are We Now” from the Where Are We album - “Destiny Part 2” from the Where Are We album - “Woo Hoo” This is actually a commercial but the harmonies are crazy impressive and it doesn’t feel like a commercial. - Moonbyul’s “Trying to Say Goodbye” solo - Wheein’s “Goodbye” solo - Moonbyul’s “Refuge” cover performance from Second World. Warning that this is a tear jerker and is not suited to a reaction because JTBC (who owns the Second World show) will block it - Hwasa’s “LMM” - stunning vocals and the lyrics are incredibly personal to Hwasa so take a look at them - Hwasa’s “Bless U” - again stunning vocals and really meaningful lyrics - Any of their Immortal Songs performances, but “Backwoods” and “Wonderful Confession” are good places to start if you can’t decide which ones. Mamamoo has been on Immortal Songs 14 times and every single performance is incredible (which is why they were invited back so many times). The medley is great, but because of time constraints is missing a lot of really iconic moments from the performances. Hope that helps!

I must admit I agree with you about Moonbyul on I Miss You. Though she slays her rap in everything she does, I too would have loved to hear her vocals on this one. Maybe since this was during the time she didn't have a lot of vocal confidence she didn't feel like she could do a good vocal job. Imagine this song redone and we got vocal Moonbyul? I would like to recommend the song ten nights, it's another ballad song with vocal moonbyul in it. Also if you still want to react to i miss you 2019, do the queendom version. Their voice i would say is more mature in that one. For mamamoo i would say there is a holy trinity for reactors: dingo killing voice which you guys already reacted to, immortal songs medley, and for a guide there's 2 very good guides out there. One is purple hawke's guide it's very informative and entertaining but it was created in 2019 so it's a little outdated and there is the 2022 guide. Honestly they compliment each other so it's hard to choose between the 2. Whatever you choose tho will be really helpful in knowing them. Not that you can go wrong with any version of a MMM song but sorry, you're wrong about people not recommending which version of I Miss You to watch. In the comments to the Killing Voice vid cardoor said "They performed I Miss You on Queendom if you guys are interested in reacting to it, they go off." and it got 189 likes and a heart from you. If you have the choice of a lyric video or a live video MMM live is always the way to go, unless of course you really want to read the lyrics first. The lyric video for I Miss You had a bunch of mistakes in the line assignments toward the end, btw. Moonbyul exclusively rapped and sang harmonies on group songs up til 2018 so you're going to have to get used to her not singing on earlier songs like I Miss You. Imo Purple Hawke's guide is the best but the newer, more up to date guide by Moo YT is also excellent. Don't be intimidated by the fact that they're in two parts - they're both extremely entertaining, informative and well edited so the time flies by. Have fun getting to know the girls!
